I just keep thinking about the Russians threatening to shut energy flow to Europe from time to time. This is so obviously a one-sided move - how can anyone not see that?

So what happened to the view that Russia was going to be the great friend and ally of the RoC in the future? And help them thwart Turkey's evil plans or even get the Turkish army out of Cyprus?

This is reminding me of the swift about face regarding the EU being the saviour of Cyprus. The minute they utter one word that the GCs do not like to hear - they become the EVIL EU ENEMY!

On the lighter side: Piratis might have to wait a bit longer for the "balance of power to change" before GR starts his war with Turkey...Damn it...I won't be alive to see it...

Are you insinuating this nuclear plant (which by the way will be owned by Russia, not Turkey!) will be generating more than just electricity?

No,dear...It will make Turkish-Russian alliance and their economies stronger...you work out the rest..

How so? Russia will move her nuclear-waste dumping ground to Turkey!

It would be a great laughing matter if the combined ineptitude of a Turkish "Homer Simpson" and a Chernobyl-Happy Russian, didn't have potentially devastating environmental consequences.

So, no! I don't think this shows an alliance of any sort! Instead, it reveals the desperation of Turkey and the opportunism of Russia to dump nuclear waste in Turkey!

Of course, these idiotic GC nationalists, would have welcome any move by Russia to build a nuclear plant in Greece. For them the problem is just political as they have invested a lot of hope on Russia who is now befriending Turkey.

I think they will also get a shock when Erdogan visits Greece and if the two countries can agree to bilaterally reduce defence spendings, some of these nationalists will be looking for a cliff to fall off, just like the Souliotisses in 1821 who, alas, were not Greek after all despite the lies of our historians. They were of course Albanian and hardly spoke Greek.

You never know ,Bananiot...Once this nuclear plant is built GR and Oracle plus Piratis might go and blow it up,causing the balance of power to change...But hang on,the plant will be closer to Nicosia than Ankara....sharks...that won't work...
