Penny wise and pound foolish comes to mind… I recall some Cypriots a few years ago who boarded Helios Air Flight 522 because it was “cheap” but never came back!

its a tounge-in-cheek comment directed at those CYs that say that the prices are high to filter out the riff-raff when it is my experience that when the said CYs come to the UK moan about the prices.

For UK trips I always use Easyjet because they, typically, 20-30% cheaper than the other schedule carriers. But Easyjet have one of the 'youngest' fleets, with an average age of 3.5 years, so I have no safety fears about using them.
Not being a 'National' airline means that the cabin crew are of different nationalities; on yesterday's Airbus A321 there were 2 British, 1 Spanish, 1 Italian and an 'Aussie' - but we will forgive them that!
