I crossed over to "trnc" only once, 3 years ago. My brother, Kostas, a retired elementary school teacher gave me the "grand tour" in his "diplocabino". He drove everywhere (Kerynia, Kantara, Yialousa (my father's birthplace), Rizocarpaso, Bogazi, Salamina and Varoshia (outside the fence at the 5 pytharia area).
I was sad to see the "katantia" of my homeland. I was disappointed of the changing of street, town and village names to Turkish. The numerous minaredes towering every single village was dreadful... felt anger and sadness at the same time.
I promised myself, my next visit will be when these lands are free once again. There is no point for another visit.
