Advice

Postby RichardS » Sat May 08, 2010 11:35 am

good morning all, just joined the forum so this is the fisrt of many posts. i'm looking for advice on a few things if possible, i have visited Cyprus now a few times and love the place, we were there in March and due back at the end of August, in March we were eating out every night in Paphos Harbour but i felt the food was expensive any ideas on good quality food thats value for money there is 5 of us? the biggest question is we are considering a part move to Cyprus within the next 2 years, what i mean by that is we will live part in Uk as i have business and part in Cyprus, in August we will be looking at potential areas to purchase a property, we like paphos but would consider the suburbs, as we will be there for 6 months each year then it needs to be away from the tourist area so we can become part of the community and settle into the lifestyle, can anybody give me any ideas and what developers and estate agents to avoid? any help would be appreciated. have a nive day in the sun, England is 8 degrees and feezing no change there.

1st welcome to the forum

2nd you wont have a prolem finding a nice house over here.

i live just outside pafos, and its great , as soon as you get to know the place and meet few ppl over here

you will know where to go for food or any other thing for that matter.

when you do prchuse a property jus make sure you read the contracts well and its a registered company, i dont think there will be any problems on this issue.

its good idea to stay bir far from tourest irea, believe it or not it isnt the most beautiful to be around here!

the real cyprus is way much better, if you get to live in a village you will sure in no time blend in with the locals

they are very lovely people, very happy and helpfull.

you wont regret it. cyprus is an experiance that shouldnt be missed.

good luck

Hello RichardS .... are you related to RichardB? :D

Anyway, there are many lovely places between either of the two main roads from Paphos to Polis -- except Stroumbi! Stay away from there. The locals are all Plonkers :D

Richard would advise renting for 6 months first to test the water, then if you want buy..

As apc said - rent first.

You won't have any problems finding somewhere to rent in that area. Half the properties there were up for Sale or Rent when I visited last in February. In fact there are some areas that look as if they would be quite nice to live in if they were a bit more 'inhabited'.

Oh, and you won't be short of 'Brit neighbours' anywhere around there either!

Smart move, There are other nice places apart from Pafos, look around into other cities too.

Whatever you decide... enjoy your stay
