Absolutely 100% agree with the previous posts - RENT first

This will allow you to "find your feet" first before you commit.

Also the time you rent will allow you to negotiate a very good deal ( if you decide to buy)as there is an abundance of property for sale

Pegia is nice but very brit dominated , same for Tala.
Coral Bay tourist oriented and a little pricey, Sea caves very very nice but price reflects this, St george's is quiet but you will need a car.

I'm in my 3rd year of full time residence and my only regret is not renting first, as with hindsight I would have lived somewhere other than Paphos

bsharpish, where did you end up living? how have you found things in Cyprus since your move, have you found it easy to settle. i feel that this is write for us now as our boys are hitting 18 and they want to travel anyway, renting is the right way forward as it will give us time to consider all options, as i said earlier i will not need to work is i can get the buisness running without me, should be easy as i have loyal staff. the more advice i can get the easier it will become, so thank you

I live on the edge of Paphos after "tomb of the kings" with a nice sea view :) :) :) :) .
We found it very easy to settle here and have made some very good friends, both Cypriot and Ex-pat.

Once you find the "lay of the land" you learn where to shop and where not too, same with restaurants and so on.

I can't claim to be an expert on property purchase ( especially as I cocked up and bought from a from a developer with title deed "issues"- a whole other story) but would advise great care in buying your home ... get a good independant lawyer involved ( this I can help with).

Transport wise ( car , scooter etc etc) ..... On this I'd be happy to help with advice.

Overall its a great place to live with a fine climate, a welcoming and friendly people ( as a whole) , great food and reasonable internet access
Just treat every developer\estate agent and the like as a hungry shark !!!!( even though some are not) and you'll be ok here

Anyway, there are many lovely places between either of the two main roads from Paphos to Polis -- except Stroumbi! Stay away from there. The locals are all Plonkers :D

HUH!! As if I would let any relatives of mine move to the British Protectorate of Pafos kai Pegia district.

Wash your mouth out you fool
