TCs don't have to forgo anything which they actually have the right for and they can be equal citizens, and not "second class".
Greeks didn't merely "touch" Cyprus. We are the
majority of this islands for
1000s of years. Even when the Ottomans ruled over Cyprus we continued to be the majority.
Do you really expect every nation that was under the Ottoman empire to lose its right for freedom just because the Turks occupied that land for a period and a Muslim
minority was created? If that is the case you should demand the same thing from mainland Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Egypt etc. In fact Cyprus was one of the last territories occupied by the Ottomans.
The TC minority can have exactly the same rights with the Greeks of Turkey, or the Muslims in Bulgaria and Greece. Your arrogance and greediness to demand more than any other minority in the world on the expense of our human and democratic rights is what created the problem in the first place.
It is the Turks that treated us like second class people in our own island, when they divided the population into Christians and Muslims and gave way more rights to the Muslims on the expense of the local christian population. This is a racist division which you want to maintain so you can continue to have Ottoman style privileges on our expense.
On the contrary what I demand is
equality of all citizens without any discrimination based on their ethnicity. This means you Bir and I Piratis to have the exact same rights and not you to have a different set of rights just because you happen to be Muslim speaking Turkish. This is a racism against us we are not willing to tolerate any longer.
