Why do religious people wear crosses around their neck to remember jesus ??? surely if they want a second coming , the last thing he will want to see is a cross ..................

It’s nothing to do with the second coming. The cross symbolizes the SACRIFICE of God’s son (Jesus) so that every human (unworthy by default) may be able to be saved (subject to some other things) from their sins and thus inherit the coming kingdom of God.

Now listen carefully... do you remember from the basic bible stories when Adam & Eve ate from the forbidden tree known as the "tree of knowledge"?

Well the moment they did they lost their innocence and run into the bushes to hide their nakedness from God! This was a turning point for mankind because it condemned them to be born sinners from day one!

And THAT is why God later sent a son to be sacrificed (on a cross) because it was allegedly the ONLY WAY (through Jesus’ torture and blood) for anyone to have a chance at being redeemed.

So the cross is symbolic of this great sacrifice that became necessary as a result of Adam & Eve’s transgression. Ok?

Seriously adam and eve ,(you are adult) but the cross without jesus on it , how is that a reminder, surely better , if you believe a "picture" of jesus/god .....

It’s not necessarily a reminder! Those who SHOULD BE wearing the cross are those that HAVE BEEN redeemed, but unfortunately every Tom, Dick, and Sally is wearing it these days, for a million different reasons!

And what difference does it make if it has a little Jesus on it or not? It’s still the same symbol!
