I know why you feel that way,kafenes...But your bitterness and hatred are misplaced...You cannot spend your life today hating an entire nation for what their Ottoman ancestors did 96 years ago...Nobody living in what is Turkey today had anything to do with the attrocities back in 1914...And even then,only a handful of people could have been held responsible...

It wasn't just property and belongings but they also took away the lives of their loved ones, there livelihood in the most humiliatung and degrading barbaric manner. Sorry mate, I can't forget and forgive.

Well...I don't have any direct links to Cemal Pasha or Enver Pasha as far as I know...but as Turkish Cypriots we cannot deny that some of our ancestors came from Anatolia in the years following 1571...They were Ottoman Turks and it was the Ottoman Turks who were responsible for 1914/15 Armenian Tragedy...Our conscience is large enough to deal with the events of the past,committed by our ancestors ,however distant...

In the absence of any family tree going as far back as the Initial Ottoman period, I will settle for 'Cypriot'. Turkish speaking Cyp - Turci-Cyp if you like. But even then If he or indeed I were decscended from a 'Janissary/Yeniceri' we could be from any Balkan state or Caucas state. Might even be descended from the Greek speaking Cyps. Do we know? Does Bir have any 'links'?
