Erdogan wants a solution by the end of 2010. Really? How?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Erdogan wants a solution by the end of 2010. Really? How?

Postby georgios100 » Sun May 02, 2010 10:29 pm

I am watching RIK news daily via internet.

To my astonishment, I heard Erdogan stating he wants a solution by the end of 2010.

The response came from President Christofias during the May 1st celebrations. "Turkey should stop these endless tricks and sit on the table. Why Turkey wants a solution by the end of 2010? We can have a solution earlier than that!!!"

Here is my question to you:

On what basis, either Christofias or Erdogan, can be certain, a solution can be achieved in 8 months or less? Bear in mind, the new talks starting shortly between Christofias-Eroglu are to begin from square one. Is it possible, in such a short time to strike a deal on a 36 year old Cyprob?

George, these are just tactics used by the turks to get one over on us.

1. They are trying to set up a time frame that we have refused so far. This is so that we can be pressurised into accepting less as the time approaches.

2. Eroglu has made his ideas abundantly clear, he is not interested in anything we want, he has stated his case many times as part of his election manifesto.

3. They are trying, again, to deceive the international community et al they they are serious about a solution so that when is doesn't happen, and it won't, they would be on record making these claims.

If the even want any chance then they need to follow some simple steps.

1. turkish troops out of cyprus.
2. settlers returned to turkey
3. Full return of refugees to their properties, both GCs and TCs.
4. Turkey to ugger of and let us negotiate a deal with the remaining TCs.

if they don't do these, they don't have a cats chance in hell for a solution my the end of any year.

Do not drop your guard, these are kneiving little shits we are dealing with.

"Georgios"... more and more, the nuances of your syntax strike me as akin to a Turk rather than a GC .... :?

Excellent response B25. Couldn't agree more. You answered all my questions in a clear fashion, straight to the point and true.
Thanks.

I second that, thanks. It just seems impossible to strike a deal in such a short time.

Is there a remote possibility for Erdogan making a 180 degree turn and satisfy the lawful and fair positions of the RoC for the last 36 years?

Not in a million years.

I have yet to read comments from the "other" side. Strange... usually, they have the answers ready and don't waste time posting them. This time though... I see nothing but silence. I wonder why...

...it may be possible that it is possible. however for this solution to succeed it can be neither "Greek" or "Turkish" having as a Principal, Human, it will gain its credibility from the global partners who will emulate it because this definition of Bicommunality gives equitable representation to people as Individuals through their State, and as well as Persons a means to sustain their identity through National Assemblies.

in this manner all citizens are equal without distinction, and as communities having equality.
