If you were a True Cypriot you would grow your own, or at least have a relative who had a surplus!

Go away Englishman! :D

This true Cypriot , only here for a few days at a time , does not engage in aggourosporo planting .
So impressed I'm with the entire island especially Stroumbi the Greatest , that I have now decided to take semi retirement starting from the end July .
Having been active all my life I will have to engage in activities that will "nourish" my impeccable ...physique such as walking , with the help of a walking stick , munching away on cucumbers with my OWN teeth fully paid , and of course maintaining the liquidity of the body with sufficient supply of what Jesus blessed .
Back to Pakiland on Wednesday and returning to Paradise the following Friday for another week of sheer bliss .
Went to Kourion yesterday for lunch , what a brilliant place it is . Had fresh fish for lunch with all the starters , loved every minute and the children including 8 month old baby loved it too.

Woud you care to give exact detail of what you said? In Cyprus, this is not just rude, it is very offensive

What I said is that the restrictions and fines imposed by the RoC on traders wishing to remain open on "bank holidays" is against EU laws .

Do you have any evidence of this?

The guy who posted that I should just remain indifferent to such nonsense like fining traders for trading on Mayday is clearly missing the point here.
It is people such as I who force the authorities to review "laws" that are absolutely stupid. Anyway I'm not the type to just ignore stupidity when its staring me in the face as this case was.

Do you really think that you have now "forced the authorities" to review the law in question? I can see it now, the cyprus parliament in emergency session, "we had better change this law guys, some old charlie thinks it is against EU law, thank God he was here to notice it".
All you have done is (a) interfered with the policeman's effort to do his job (b) demonstrated your knowitall ignorance and "hwrkatillikki" (c) behaved in an extremely rude and inflammatory manner, some would say threatening behaviour and likely to cause an affray (d) given barrack-room, irresponsible legal advice. (e) if your status as a UK cypriot was evident, re-inforced the (unfairly) unflattering image that UK cypriots have in Cyprus.

Because of (a) and (c), in most EU countries, the UK included, you would almost certainly have been arrested.
