In short, a disappointing Lib-Dem leader who would be swayed by misguided "liberal" sentiments as soon as some crafty Zionist got hold of his nether regions ... the Choirboy that he is ...

Under the circumstances, I shall abstain. Let the Brits go to hell! They'll be going round with begging bowls shortly anyway ... What a waste of all I have put into the UK!

Can they borrow the greece bowl when they are finished ....

Greece is only asking for what she is owed from the Germans, specifically, for the destruction they caused Greece during WWII and from the EU, generally, for teasing Turks into thinking they can enter the EU thus necessitating over-expenditure on weapons to patrol EU borders!

If anyone is going to shake up the civilised western world which Greece created, it is Greece herself. The US/UK not only let those crisis-causing bankers get away with murder, they positively rewarded them! Now the common people of Greece are fighting for the sake of all of us!

But, you're too shallow to appreciate ...

Secondly, I am not defending cherie Blair, I am simply pointing out that her action cannot be equated with public statements of LibDem officials in support of recognition of the north. BTW, it was you that mentioned her in this discussion, which is now conveniently "pointless". And please do not insult me by referring me to Viewpoint.

You're right. They can't be equated. Mrs Tony Blair, the wife of the then Labour Prime Minister's actions were far, far more damaging to Cyprus than a few Jewish LibDems, expressing personal opinions, and whose motivations are entirely transparent. And if you honestly can't see that, you deserve the insult because you're just as obtuse as Viewpoint, and even more annoyingly argumentative.

She knew it was a sensitive case and being the wife of the British PM she should have turned it down, her effing sidekick even suggested that I took legal advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau or the Law Society - and then she goes on to defend thieving Orams. Here's what I wrote to her and her reply: -

You are preaching to the converted here, Jerry.

I agree that she should have turned it down.
Her action was inexcusable (understatement of the year).

Make up your mind.

Despite what they say, none of the parties in the UK give a shit about Cyprus!

British elections have nothing to do with Cyprus. The Brits should mind their own business and clear off their bases & troops from the island. I had enough with colonial military presence, no need for their politics either!

Does that include the Canadian army contingents here too ????????

Last time I checked, the Canadians in Cyprus are a total of 1 (one) guy...
No foreign troops have any business in Cyprus... all of them! Get out.

Wasnt it a single Gurkha from the bases who stoop up to the advancing Turkish Army in 1974, thus saving the rest of the islande being run over? Not much grateful to them are you?

Having said that after a peace settlement, the Brits can leave.

that

folks are not as un made up as they apear to be

and that the Tories are going to win

because no-one wants our borders kept wide open....our own men and women need jobs.....

and every one knows that we are in a complete and utter financial mess because of the Blair.....Brown ....13 year give it away mindset

The financial mess has been caused, in no small measure by the Iraq war and also by "light touch" regulation of the financial services industry - neither of which the Tories (Her Majesty's opposition at the time) opposed. Don't kid ourself. The Tories would have created the same mess.

there is more to the financilal mess than those 2 issues

we have given Bilions away to people from other countries in benefits who should never have been given them

example.....an imigrant comes here to the uk to work...lowers the basic wages...says that he/she has children back home.....and then gets family tax credits on top of their wages to send back to the eastern block

tax credits where put into place to help uk families on lower incomes to manage.......not for all and sundry to come here and take

a family I know.....came here 20 years ago from hungary....they worked and settled here.....they have just brought over their mother to live with them.......I have no problems with their mother coming here to live..but within 6 months.....this lady was given.....DLA.....Attendance Allowance....Housing Benefit......and they where given Carers Allowance for taking care of her.........now this is a lady that has never been in the uk before..and doesn't speak one word of english.....and she has never paid a penny into our economy

and she is NOT alone...there are 1000's and 1000's of people comming into the UK just for our benefits

yearly on this one

and NO I am NOT racist at all

and I have completely bought into the 50's and 60's multi racial society

but

all I want is fairness

my own husband was seriously injured 22 months ago...and is extremely ill

can he get any of the benefits that he has paid into for the last 30 odd years NO

can we move to a hotter climate within the Euro zone........without our own money to keep us afloat so that he can have better health......NO

we will have to pay our own way..to get him the warmer climate that he needs..and that's ok by me.I understand that other countries can't keep people who have NOT paid into their system

so why can't the uk adopt the same principles that other countries in Europe have adopted?

it's a one way curve ball that has been placed on the UK and it is crippling us ALL financially

and for the future for our children and their children

we HAVE to close our borders

and NOT let CLegg or Labour back into the equation

Then vote BNP ,

now that's worse than a swear word

and the sad thing is

that people who are NOT racist are actually being fooled into thinking that the BNP are the right answer to closing our borders

when they DEFINITELY ARE NOT the right answer

god forbid that they ever get more of a sniff than they allready have

We should have closed our borders along time ago, here in Cyprus.

I agree with you. A very long time ago too. Should have kept all those seafaring Greeks out of Cyprus.

No Enosis=peace

Now the common people of Greece are fighting for the sake of all of us!

Yesterday you said it wasn't Greeks who were doing all the fighting, that it was the horrible 'foreigners'.

You have the nerve to complain about people who have moved to and live in Cyprus taking any interest at all in the country and what happens to it, when you don't want to live in it yourself and take no interest in the country YOU chose to live in - the UK.

Your most idiotic remark to me so far this year was that I only live in Cyprus because it suits me.

Why the hell else would I choose to live here or anywhere? Are there people who sit and work out where it would LEAST suit them to live and then work and save towards getting themselves there?

Your temper seems to prevent you engaging your brain before you start typing.

Now - why don't you get back to what you are best at ... telling us all about the GLORY of GREECE. How Cyprus is GREEK. How we stand shoulder to shoulder with them and all that shit.
