Is 'North Cyprus Free Press' a free press?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Is 'North Cyprus Free Press' a free press?

Postby Omer Seyhan » Sat May 01, 2010 3:04 pm

I came across this website North Cyprus Free Press, it looked interesting at first but seems to lean heavily towards partition and TRNC recognition. There are people there with English pseudo names arguing that there is no such thing as a Turkish Cypriot dialect. :( This struck me as a little odd.... since every T/C I know speaks it even the most educated T/Cs who are professors of International law.

Any ideas who owns it? what its purpose is? Another propaganda tool of T/C nationalists?

It's run by Malcolm Channing. It does allow free speech, its main purpose appears to be to keep up the morale of the carpetbaggers who fear they may lose their place in the sun if there is a settlement. Many of them genuinely believe that the GCs alone are responsible for the Cyprus problem and they deserve all they get, they talk of massacres prior to the invasion. They refuse to see both sides of the story and, in a perverted sort of way, believe that they are justified in keeping the stolen GC land they bought on the cheap because the way they believe GCs treated Turkish Cypriots.

Well put.... although I don't think they do allow free speech. They didn't accept any of my responses to date...

I have not posted on NCFP for a while but I never had any problems, they have a "points" system where your post is hidden but can be revealed if you click on a link. I don't think anyone has been banned from there - even Miltiades gets his "plonker" comments posted.

Hark a one sided perspective - Cyprus the land of hypocracy. And so many jerks on this post cannot see that or admit to it. Quelle suprise.

No not one sided at all. It is exactly how it is. The NCFP is essentially cheapskates justifying their illgotten gains and demonising the GCs. Actually doing your dirty work acikgoz.

How much TC land in the south side has been sold to foreign buyers???

Put up or shut up you are talking bollocks again.
