Cypriot Nationalism can it exist now?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Looks like you're stepping on both Turkey and CNP - not a great design in promoting CNP. Your PR dept may need a revamp, or is it the typical jobs for the boys at CNP, political persuasion over competence.

Blame Photoshop.

The jokes surrounding "CNP" aside....

Between 1572 and 1668, around twenty-eight bloody uprisings took place on the island, and in many of these both Greek and Turkish Cypriot peasants took part. One of the earliest Cypriot heroes are Halil Aga (1640) and Mehmet Boyacioglu (1670) who both organised and led the great rebellion of 1640. Both were loved by the people even though before their execution they only secured a short period of freedom.

Believe me that we Cypriots today still love freedom and desire it. To us it is more desirable than anything in the world. If you strike us down now, we shall rise again to renew the fight. You cannot conquer Cyprus. You cannot extinguish the Cypriot passion for freedom. In my view the vast majority of Cypriot people still recognise this.

But Omer you have not answered your own question. Can it exist before a peace agreement? Please answer it.

But the real question is do we want nationalism of any kind in Cyprus and judging by the nationalist experiences of all other countries in the world, the answer is no. Nationalism has been bad where ever it surfaced.

And of course our buddies the ultra nationalists...

'On an ordinary day in 1986, a group of Turkish stage actors dressed in Nazi (SS) uniforms asked randomly the people walking in the streets of Istanbul to show their identity cards. Interestingly, they had employed a mixed language semi German and semi Turkish -- in approaching these people and asked for kimlik bitte!'. What was more interesting was that the majority of the people who were approached by these actors in SS uniforms showed their identity cards without questioning any part of the staged act. The whole event was meant to be humorous, yet it also revealed the unquestioned authority of anybody dressed in a uniform in a country with a strong state tradition.'

What do you mean by revolutionary underground movement ?
