On a more serious note, Greece has a per capita GDP as stated by the statistics. The GDP is produced by the private sector, not the civil service, and the private sector is not affected by the debt crisis or the deficit. The austerity measures are directed to the state apparatus and not the private economy which is doin OK, with no foreign manufacturing bubble looming in the horizon as there is in Turkey. I have posted before about the hollow nature of Turkish industry, where most of the manufacturing investment is foreign owned and does not promote indigenous innovation or real wealth. Some middlemen make a lot of money. But as Greece found out in the 90s these "investors" can vanish overnight.
