ANIMAL BREEDERS IN BEYARMUDU(PERGAMOS) HELD A PROTEST !!!!!!

Postby halil » Fri Apr 30, 2010 2:17 pm

Animal breeders in the village of Beyarmudu(PERGAMOS) have protested against difficulties being raised by the British Base officials in the area.

Nearly 20 breeders came together with their animals at the checkpoint in the village to protest the restrictions.

The protest was organized after two month long attempts of Hasan Küçük Bergamalı – a villager in Beyarmudu – to get permission to take 220 sheep he brought from the TRNC to his farm in the Sovereign Bases Area failed.

During yesterday’s action, the breeders threatened to cross into the British Sovereign Areas with their trucks laden with animals if Bergamlı is not allowed to take the animals to his farm.
The protest continued for an hour.

The breeders accepted to end their action when they were told that the necessary permission will be given to Bergamalı today.

The breeders say they will wait until today to see whether Bergamali will be allowed to take the animals to his farm.

Would you care to explain the comment about 'smelling a rat' Deniz?

If this is true - what is happening to the poor animals? Are they stuck on the trucks or what?

I thought perhaps some ministry in the south was putting pressure on the SBA police to make life difficult for the TCs.
