Moving to cyprus?? maybe

Postby loise » Thu Apr 29, 2010 10:58 pm

Hi, i have just been offered a good job in cyprus and I am currently considering this. Obviously the lifestyle is a big magnet to the yes side.

The only issue is my parents have put a doubt in my head. This is not to appear presumptious, i have never been to cyprus but my parents have. They seem to think as a pale skinned blonde female that i will find it very hard to live there due to attitudes particularly from men.

I was just curious as to know what people who have been there and or live there think? and are my parents just worrying for no reason.

Kind regards

Loise

Brilliant thats what I wanted to hear! How about the language, I was told not to bother however I wouldn't like to be rude though.

Most people speak English. The locals like it when non Cypriots make the effort to learn the Greek language.

Where are you thinking of moving Loise?

Nicosia, the capital thats where the job is!!! Well i have downloaded some internet podcasts to try and get to grips with polite greetings, i think however I may leave the nitty gritty untill i get there and maybe try for lessons somewhere!

Potentially the toughest language i will ever learn, and I have a few!
