the turkish lera is at the moment not far of its strongest against the uk pound (strongest 2,12tl now 2,27) and has been as low as 2.43 in the past 3years ,, but all currency have taken a battering from the dollar , as most buyers of money know that the dollar will be the first to recover,, but the greek financial problem will put big pressure on the allready week euro, turkey has not had the problems of the rest of the world ,and so the lera is worth buying at the moment

Hey Dodo, the NTL is still worth 1,000,000 TL so nothing has changed from the old days!

It’s like the US releasing a $1,000,000 dollar note so that it looks good next to other currencies on electronic boards!

Nobody in the right mind “invests” in Turkish currency.

i assumed that by joining the EU meant that you get international support especially when you're in a crisis. so why have the EU left Greece to drown in their own debt?

it is not the lira that is up and down it is the euro and the pound that is up and down and unstable,so you buy when its right and you sell when it is right. at the moment the euro is in the shit so you might buy ,and sit on it untill it is strong and then change into pounds or what ever you want ,simple ,if a currancy is showing a downward trend it might be the other currancy is gaining on the market, understand, now i might be right or not it is a gamble but tomorrow i am going to sell lira and buy pounds because there is going to be a change in goverment in the uk in 2 weeks and i am putting my money where my mouth is , if there is a cons victory then the pound will jump if not i will have to sit on it watch this space as they say,
