This thread is about proving god exists...

Since it is in question why can't god prove he exists?

Why can't he do something that would convince non-non-believers like myself?

It keeps going over your head but, the presence of the universe is 100% ROCK SOLID EVIDENCE of the existence of God!

That you and countless other fools, choose to ignore the mother of all miracles, and are looking for petty terrestrial trickery to be convinced of the existence of God, has more to do with an intellectual shortcoming.

Why doesn't he do something spectacular - like curing cancer for instance?

What could possibly be more spectacular than all the things that are happening all over the universe at any given moment, that we unfortunately can't see with the naked eye because we're so small and pitiful…

I presume he must have created cancer on an off day or something? perhaps he did it late at night when he was tired or spilt a glass of wine on his plans or something?

Cancer cells are part of the eco-package of this planet, and for them to be here they must have a valid purpose.

I mean, surely, if you were creating the universe and all the amazing and wonderful creatures in it you wouldn't think "I know, I'll add cancer for a bit of fun so millions of them can die a prolonged and agonising death - just for a laugh"....

You assume Cancer cells are bad because you only associate them with human death but what makes you think humans are meant to live forever or that these cells have no other function?

I wish I'd known that god has a sense of humour when my mum was dying of cancer - it would have been a great comfort to her I'm sure...

Just because you see and appreciate the beauty of the universe, it does not mean it was created for your pleasure by a God.

Some live and die and never see this beauty, only its pain. Is God (if he exists) any less real for them in that case?

God (if he exists) cannot exist only for some and not others. God cannot exist to be good to some and not others. The presence or absence of a God is not dependent on our feelings. You cannot use your perception of the universe as evidence that God exists. Your feelings are fallible.

Your feelings evolved to make sense of the universe as it is, not the other way around.
