GREEK CYPRIOT FUGITIVE HANDED OVER TO GREEK CYPRIOT AUTHORIT

Postby halil » Tue Apr 27, 2010 11:18 am

A Greek Cypriot fugitive who crossed into the TRNC after fleeing from a police station in South Cyprus – has been handed over to Greek Cypriot authorities. Andreas Onoufriou had been kept at the Paralimni police station for possessing explosive material.

He escaped from station together with Turkish citizen Kayar Ahmet and crossed into the TRNC on the 20th of April.

According to information provided by the Head of the Turkish delegation of the Technical Committee on Crime and Criminal Matters Hakki Onen, Onoufriou and Ahmet were arrested by TRNC police after the Greek Cypriot Administration informed the committee on the issue and demanded Onoufriou’s extradition.

Omoufriou – who committed no crimes in the TRNC – was handed over to Greek Cypriot authorities at the presence of UN officials with the minutes of the handover procedure

"after the Greek Cypriot Administration informed the committee on the issue and demanded Onoufriou’s extradition."

How could the GC police demand extradition from a country that doesn't exist? And I'm not sure you can "demand" extradition - surely you ask nicely? :D

You'll find the GC administration is a little bit like the Israeli one. They do not ask nicely they demand.

They don't 'demand' and the North does not 'extradite'. This has happened before, there's an unofficial call and they are picked up and taken to the crossings where our guys are waiting. It makes sense.

An unofficial call to who/where? The "pseudo" police in a non-existent country? It makes about as much sense as you do.

I don't know what to say ....... sometimes u are acting very childish my forum friends.First of all two communities agreed to make a working groups to stop the crimes . Under this protocol or agreement both sides are cooparating against the crimes. We must be very happy about this. at least they are doing good job for both side interest and safety. I hope soon they can agree to solve the communication problem between both side and both side mobile phones can work as well.

If you get your own mobile signal in north or south u can use your mobile phone by doing roaming .Its mean u pay lots of money. If u don't get your own mobile signal (no signal) u can not communicate with your home or rest of the world.

what most of the Cypriots do now .If they passes from one side to other side they buy that side sim cards too and they replace they are one with new sim cards and they can phone back to their homes.

can u imagine our leaders did not solve this simple problem yet. How they can solve the bigger ones ?

because idiots thinks if they do such a job ...... idiots call it recognition or not recognition !!!!!!!! how stupid and useless arguments .

Can't communicate with them but we should be able to trade with them. I wonder how many GCs on this forum are aware of that situation?
