Help- how to compress mp3 !

Postby fig head » Mon Apr 26, 2010 8:38 pm

Ok smart people i need urgent help.

it pisses me off when i find music CD`s with more than 50 track on them yet the CD it self doesnt have big space, something silly like 700 MB CD`s!!

i know how to burn DVD`s and CD`s using media player but i dont know how to fot lots of songs on CD`s, i end up doing a CD with only 11 pr 12 track!!

and i know you can compress mp3 and MPEG audio so they take less space and then you can burn your CD

i just dont know how !!

do you need a program to convert them !! i have no idea

i need someone to go through it step by step with me using easy words , NO COMPLECATED TERMS !! O.K

From A To Z please please please......

Search for a programme called

Switch

it's for both pc and mac and you can really squash large music files into small mp3.

Good luck.

But as said am no expert, must have misunderstood something. Misunderstand a lot of things.

Mp3 is a format of an audio file. And yes it is in a smaller size.

You just need to convert your songs. I find it much easier downloading the album rather than converting it.

Last time I converted was 9 years ago and used to do it through itunes.

Fig head, your mp3's don't need compressing...all you need to do next time is chose to create a DATA CD rather than an audio one....

From what I can understand here, the program you are already using converts your MP3 to a wav file. Do as T_C suggested and burn as a data file. Your MP3's should stay as MP3's then you can get in the region of 80-140 songs on a CD.
