Halil, there used to be a monument to Grivas (his birthplace) in Tricomo, is it still there and if so do you have a picture?

Silly question ..... Are there any statues to tissy people in the Occupied North?

Seems to me (and suspect others) there must be factories spewing out grotesques in memory of the Ataducky chap and now we're getting one of the Murderer of 1974.

Suppose we could have one or even several to Rough Donktosh when he eventually kicks the bucket. Gosh, just think of the mountain of stone that would be needed if it were life-sized.

.... but as said, silly question really.

You'll find that our Rauf baby has already got a statu of himself on the Girne rounabout, on account that if he waits till he dies he may not get one.
Fancy that.

So tell us Freddie..... will you be happy or otherwise when the ficker does finally snuff it? .... Just vaguely curious.

He will have good company right next to Tasos Papadovillos. Outside heaven that is.

Understood mate.

You chaps better place a platoon of the TA to guard your Rough's final resting place. You know how good some CYs are at digging.

QUESTION: Are there any statues of the murderous EOKA B muppet called Grivas in Greek side?

As for CYs being good at digging - they must be better than clumsy GCs, who used earth diggers during 1974 to bury live, hundreds of TC women and children in mass graves! That was in addition to many of their own left hanging from the trees in Limassol (rather than being buried). Not to forget EOKA-B burying many Makarios supporters in mass graves around the same time! :(

I understand the Turks used shovels in 1974 and they burried each GC that they killed separately with a cross on top.
Bravo!

No need to get carried away now! The Sandalaris killings accounted for less than 70 people, not that the number makes it any less disgusting, but "hundreds", "buried alive" is a mite exaggerated.

Oh NO! Please do not make me go over this again (have done it in this forum 2-3 times already; the stage is the same but the actors keep revolving like a very long Broadway musical).

The massacres you refer to had happened more than just Sandallar (I belive in 3 places but can only recall Atlılar as the other one at this time). They exclude the TCs buried with your GC comrades in Limassol area - as confessed by one of your GC priests! I am sue I have kept the article somewhere in my computer folders. If you insist I shall be happy to quote it for you.

But all this is beside the point. The point I was trying to make is - why constantly blame the TCs for things that the GC had also been actively carrying out for decades? I can dig out the civilian casualty figures for 1963-64 and later too. Unfortunately, a lot of GC civilians also had to suffer during these times .

But the question you should ask is "who initiated these attacks and why?". I am absolutely sure that you will find it was the fanatic GCs lead by EOKA-B leadership on each occasion. So what is it exactly GCs blaming the TCs for? You go and poke/wound a sleeping young neighbor and get hurt as a result, because his brother decides to pick up his shotgun and shoot your balls off!

The day when GCs stop looking for excuses by misleading historic facts and recognise TCs as their equal, will be when a solution may be possible. Until then it is nothing more than mud slinging and verbal abuse between members of both comunities... :(

What exactly are you putting forward ? Are you suggesting that the G/C extremists who committed this vile acts are more blood thirsty than the T/C extremists who committed equal vile acts. We have covered this issue hundreds of times. The guilty were the extremists , the misguided nationalists who had Greece or Turkey as their motherland. These were the bastards who caused these hideous crimes not your average decent morally orientated T/C or G/C .

I agree with you all the way and have no arguments there.

What I am putting forward is with reference to the same extremist idiots in this forum who create posts (as was the case earlier in this thread) displaying the TCs attacking poor GCs over the same decades - and look at the reaction of the ignorant peasant who now wants me to educate him in historic facts, after claiming the statement "hundreds of TCs were buried using earth diggers" is outrageous!

I just remembered why I gave up these arguments and log on to Cyprus-Forum once every 3-4 months. Good luck Miltiades... :(
