Do you also pay their Superannuation or Pension Fund and do you have a Slave's Quarters for these poor unfortunates that you are taking advantage off?

What about their medical insurance?

The minimum wage in the UK is £5.85 per hour at the moment so 8 euros an hour equates to £7+ per hour so pretty good if you are paying UK prices for everything! Good points made regarding the legality of sri lanken workers in Cyprus and I stand corrected for saying some may be here illegally (without work permits etc).I think that the negativity of some replies you have had is that people who are looking for work who are either Cypriot born or resident in Cyprus object to your asking for one particular ethnic group. You know very well being British that you would be classed as racist in Britain and taken to court for advertising for an ethnic only post!
I wish you well in your search and like others on here hope that you will accomadate them decently and pay all taxes etc and their medical care.

Thank you for your reply Beverly
I have been looking for a "local " person for over 6 months and they do not want this type of work according to the interviews I have conducted, I need a special person who can handle an ederly father in need of care I have therefore reverted to looking for someone who I know will be happy with the work, the pay and yes indeed the conditions of work which will indeed include medical care, food, excelent accomodation within our home and tickets home to see family when they wish
As for being british and taken to court for advertising for an ethnic, I have not lived in UK for 15 years and quite frankly racism is rife there but not on the level you are accusing me of being but in many other areas

Thank you all for your posts with regard to my search and your attacks and your ASSUMPTIONS on how me and my family would treat someone but you are obviously basing your ASSUMPTIONS on your own treatment of people and not mine

I shall not use this forum again as I am not here to be attacked I asked for help and instead got all this shite

You are welcome to your forum and I hope you treat new posters with a little less shite in the future

adios assholes

By my calculation, 8 euro per hour for a 40 hour week works out at about 1,387 euro per month. That is not cheap labour in Cyprus.

The critisism of an hourly rate of €8 an hour comes from outside Cyprus and from people who are out of touch with wage rates here.

Overseas Housemaids here, have a salary of around €400 per month,, so around €100 for a 40 hour week, or €2.5 an hour. Thus they are pleased to work for €8 in their 'leisure' time to supplement their normal income.
