Maybe you've been hanging out with the wrong kind of people. There are plenty of fish in the sea and it takes a while to find the right one. Of course, in our society a guy who plays the field is a stud while a girl who tries the same is a slapper. Not my opinion but a common perception. Avoid shallow and ignorant people as they are no good for partnership - or breeding.

You will find love a worthwhile thing to have when it comes. I'm a believer in marriage when you know it's the right one. Happily married people - and good parents especially - know that selfishness is something they have left behind. Unfortunately, today we live in a society when couples use their children as weapons against each other. You never used to hear about estranged parents stabbing their defenceless toddlers to death then phoning their partners to tell them they will never see the kids again. Now it seems to be happening repeatedly. I can't help thinking it has something to do with the "me, me, me" and instant fame and celebrity culture. It's not just selfish and shallow - it also belittles those who don't make the perceived grade. People have become commodities. Avoid all this trash like the plague and be a real person.

And having said all that, remember - it's better to have loved and lost than to have spent your whole life w*nking.
