The Worlds most complicated Island .

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby CrookedRiverGuy » Thu Apr 22, 2010 11:44 pm

I'm coming from a nation where we like to see ourselves as the centre of the world. Luckily, we're not too many and we don't have too much to do with the rest of the world. Why "luckily", because it would have become a laughing matter to the rest of the world.

Now, what do "we" think about the Cypriots? ""Oh yeah, they are some "latin-greek people", probably as much screwed up as the greeks who have close to gipsy-standards when it comes to dealing with financial matters. The island is divided? You say so... Probably some old arguing, you can simply look at the map and you will see it's right outside the coastline of Turkey. So probably the turks aren't to blame. Of course we understend the EU reluctance towards EU, but heck, the "other" people on that island aren't probably much better either. Huh, greeks. Slobbish with their economy. Lazy. Depend on EU money. Noticed how the EU pumped money into paving the roads way up in the mountains. Yeah, that was the only way for these people to get anything done. Yeah, right!""

Do you know what "we" have in common with "you"? Well, for sure we think we are the center of the world!

Do you really think any EU state gives a shit about that miserable conflict of yours? Answer: Hardly, they want progress, progress and progress. Not endless waging over things that becomes more and more impossible to solve by time.

So why should one be surprised that the hard-liners of this forum get upset over such an article? The Economist must have studied the users at cyprus-forum.

de facto partition suits many on both sides

Realize it the sooner the better: You're not the centre of the world either. Since the rest of the world consider you a bottomless pit of problems, the least you can do is to stop acting backwardish.

(By the way, for anyone who doubt it, I love Cyprus, but: I am able to see it from a distance...)

Cyprus is the center of the world and those who don’t agree should get out and stay out!

Kind regards, the most centered from the center of the world. 8)

Thanks! I expected a lot of this. From cowboys of any kind. Not that fast, though.

EDIT By the way, aren't cowboys supposed to use their guns? 35 years - and you still didn't pull it, Boy! Simply being texan (or wyoming) big-mouthed??

And do you realise what that means?

It's a euphemism for occupation!

Took you that long, Oracle?

Can you please look up 'euphemism' for me, I'm not as smart as you (but of course you got that already).

My answer will probably be: Sorry, this euphemism seem to be necessary to get along. Like it or not.

No, wrong again. We are not "getting along". We are at war until the occupation of our land is over, de facto and de jure and de sure! And no euphemisms will be required! Just the plain truth!

Why do people who probably rarely come into contact with Cypriots, except when buying a kebab, think they understand the Cyprus problem?

This is the Cypriotic perspective? If so; may God be with you! Luckily this is only a forum :) like any others forum, with its Oracles, CBBBs, YFreds and whatever.
