Road Tax, MOT, etc.

First a very general question: "The MOT" takes place every 2nd year, right?

I'm used to being allowed to have my car checked 4-5 months before the deadline of the semiannual checkup. Is this the case in Cyprus too?

Finally; I've heard that Road taxation is about to change. When googling, i was lead to CyprusForum - only to find a 3 year old posting confirming such rumours aren't new. So, I guess one shouldn't expect the road tax to be less in the future?

OK - that would pretty much limit my chances of making use of the site. Sorry!
If we skip the last question: The two first should be pretty easy to answer for everyone who dealt with an ownership, right?

Unless you bring a car from outside Cyprus and then you need an MOT immediately, then every two years.

I got a reminder this year. First time.

And read that they are now clamping down on those who don't pay road tax licence and won't be issuing reminders in future.
