Another angel leaves

Postby DT. » Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:33 am

Andreas karapitas a 9 year old little boy from Larnaca died yesturday morning after 2.5 years of fighting a brain tumour.

Andreas had one dream in life, to meet his idol Sotiris Ninis the Panathinaikos star.

After word got round to Panathinaikos Sotiris Ninis arrived in Larnaca without anyone knowing and spent the entire day with Andreas, also visiting the hospital to see another of Andreas's friends also suffering from the same desease.

The article is in Greek but the pictures speak for themselves.

There is another young girl that is currently being helped by the team and supporters of APOEL to pay for her expenses for an operation. She still has a chance, anyone wishing to donate, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the fund setup by the APOEL goalkeeper Dionysis Chiotis.

I met Sotiris Ninis when he was touring Australia.

He is a good bloke! Very down to earth soccer star. A rare quality in professional Football these days.

I'm really not surprised that Sotiris would do this and spend time with this Angel.
