Every week I read articles written by Denktash, and what we know so far is that he is adamant on partition. Forgive me for being pessimistic. I was prepared to give Eroglu a chance (wait and see what transpires), but Denktash , it seems will run the show. What is the point of having an advisor you will ignore? (not you personally ofcourse).

I share your sentiments Deniz: no progress for another 4 years, but at least I can say the TC's have voted.... because they want partition


I don't think Eroglu went to the elections promising anything different Confederation he said ....... big mistake if you ask me. TC's can be fully ledged EU members tas soon as they choose differently,

The point in all of this is this, if Turkey was sincere about a solution none of this would of happenned, unfortunately our stupid government in Cyprus, falls for Turkey's tricks, in believing that the Turks want a solution..In the cypriot media, its all being portrayed as Turkey and Cyprus vs. the Tc,

paphitis , good points but if what I read recently about Christofias decision not to run again there goes a lot of hard work. Unless the follower has similar values on the Cyprus problem. I doubt EU wants turkey to have access to Cyprus which is what will happen if they allowed partition..... way too close to home. They would prefer them across the water, I think.

Even if Christofias does not run, Andros Kyprianou will. So nothing much will change if Andros wins. Andros is also a good down to earth bloke. Very level headed.

Personally, I don't believe the EU care too much. I wish I was wrong, and maybe I am! I hope so anyway.

I doubt AKEL will ever get elected again.
