When I was 8 years old playing in the garden with my friend I got this idea to lock him out. I ran for the glass door, got in and tried to shut it on him. He was pushing one end, me the other...I was so close to getting the door shut I put my foot on the fridge behind me and pushed with all my might.....SMASH! Hand straight through, blood dripping down the glass...my instant reaction was to jerk my hand back...CRUNCH/RIP/SCREAM/SHOCK/HORROR!!!!

A FOUNTAIN OF BLOOD COMING OUT MY WRIST!!!!!! NO FEELING IN MY HAND!!!!!!! BONES!!!!!!! FLESH!!!!!!

I was lucky because it was my right wrist, otherwise I would of been dead...equally lucky that I'm left handed because I couldn't use that hand for years to come...I cut my nerves...it was so bad!

Well I was extremely lucky, there were top doctors from Turkey visiting Nicosia hospital at the time.

Infact our TC lot were about to stitch me up and send me on my way when one of the Turkish doctors came and pricked my fingers with a needle after I told them that my hand felt numb...I couldn't feel a thing on 3 of my fingers, so thats when they realised I'd cut my nerves and it was straight to the O.R.

I still can't close all my fingers together on that hand, and it makes me cringe when anything touches the scar.

But I survived and it didn't effect my life much being that I'm left handed. I got lots of attention, lots of toys and a cast which (at the time) was something that I'd always wanted!
