If only you had the interests of the whole of cyprus at heart, you would be welcome, but as you line up with the fascists every time, you will always be a peski russian.
Is your immigration papers proper, you better show them to one of our specially nice officers. Now run along.

The stick cannot get any bigger. Do you think Erroglu has any carrots up his sleeve? What would these be so as to entice the GC side to sign up to a two state solution?

Too bad for you. While on practice both Talat and Eroglou are the same for us, since in the negotiations they are just Turkey's puppets, Talat had the image of being "progressive", while Eroglu is seen as a hard liner.

Also this Eroglu guy seems uneducated and from what I hear he doesn't even speak English. Halil would have made a better pseudo president than him ;)

Absolutely. This really might be seen as excellent news ..... the "image" of nice man Talat, the progressive liberal, the fluentish English speaker is gone, even though he didn't have the courage of his convictions to stand up to Turkey.

Now with Errorgluey being "elected" .... the Fascist Nationalist Hard Man, the out and out Partitionist and Long Live Tnucland; well, the EU and the rest of the world will see what is a too common hang on to the spoils of war Mindset amongst some of our northern friends.

This chap is gonna be a public relations disaster for Tnucland and a disaster for Turkey's EU hopes. The EU's not gonna be impressed with this bugger's lack of goodwill and the usual intransigence. Something's got to give and it won't be the EU.

Thanks northern friends .... you've made my day.

He supports a 2 state solution how the hell will the 2 leaders sit around the same table one will say black the other white, they are at opposite ends of the stick, something is going to give and it might just be Christoifiyas, the goal posts have been changed yet again, but hey you still think nothing will change...doesnt that sand you bury you head in burn?

Really VP, How blind and thick can anyone be ???

There are times when I get really embarrassed we share the same bit of cyberspace.

How many more decades will it take for you to see that Two States ain't gonna happen .... Didn't happen back in "74 when some of you beggars thought CyProb "was solved" and it certainly ain't gonna happen today, .... not on the say so of the Majority Illegal Settler's "Electorate".

Are you starting to get it now?

Tell that to the newly elected President Eroğlu, Im sure he will listen to you.

Hoping he won't listen to me. That's the point of most of the posts above, try reading them.

Not long to wait just watch and learn, your man will run from the table at the first chance the stage has been set, the trap laid just watch the GCs fall for it.

You try reading and understanding whats being said, the trap has been set and the GCs are the ones about to take the fall....Christofias will be so frustrated that he will run away form the table the first opportunity he gets showing the world yet again the Cyprus problem is unsolvable...viva relaxation of isolation.

Politics is always full of little surprises .... but he's only got one carrot I fear, the usual one, the one the Partitionists have been dangling for decades, what he'll see as the enticing trump card of Varosi? .... and carrots always come at the end of sticks.

Bad news for Cyprus. Worse news for Turkish Cypriots.

Eroglu is a dinosaur (and a fascist to boot).

This is a bad result for GCs as well since it makes any reconciliation more, not less, difficult.

Having said that, Talat's campaign was poorly organised and lacking in vigour, all of which did nothing to change the popular perception that he had squandered the moral high-ground inherited from the Annan referendum result.

The people gave him 5 years to solve this situation, he produced nothing so they voted in a hardliner who cant speak English, if it makes no difference to the GCs then there you are try agreeing a solution with this guy and see the difference I give Chrisfoias 2 meeting before hes out of there like a rabbit being hunted.

Assuming that hitherto Christofias et al. were engaged in bona fide negotiations then, now with the election of Eroglu, they'll be kicking themselves that they were so slow with Talat. I agree that the electorate have just given a judgment on Talat's failure to negotiate anything definitive over five years.
