Albania. Bosnia, Greece, Serbia and Fyrom are the champions of European corruption according to this index.

Since it is "Perceptions" being put forward; then this outcome is inherently partisan, subjective and invariably directly opposed to the factual.

The Greeks are renowned for self-criticism and throwing accusations at each other. Thus they will be "perceived" as worse than they are because of this tendency towards negativity.

Even poor Socrates was sentenced to death because of "perceptions". The rumours about his lack of reverence to the gods and for teaching sophistry began decades earlier by Aristophanes. A perception built up around innocent Socrates which was hard to shake off despite reality. The trial of Socrates is analogous to what has happened to Greece. Condemned on rumour ...

I will not look up the posted reference because something tells me that the bribery scandals of Siemens, MAN, Daimler, somehow will not feature in the tables.

When low class bastards from the Balkans bribe each other there is some asshole to study the phenomenon and report on it. When big sharks like Daimler and Siemens spend billions bribing their way to success prestigious US law firms "investigate" and close the case.

Forgotten??
Hell, when did this ever happen? Obviously it didn't make its rounds globally.. after all, if you're the recipient of American sodomy and take it with a smile and zero resistance, things like this rarely become international 'scandals'.

It's all about PR and effective subterfuge. The Greeks are too open and honest and will always be condemned for everything whilst the real culprits get away.

praise the greeks, bash the british - same S**t different subject.. dear O your predictability is wonderful.
The Greeks were not so honest about the state of their Economy.

But like Cap i have heard nothing of this?
Why on Earth would BAE be trying to flog Swedish Fighters to someone when they are Market competitors to BAE planes? And would the Swedish Government allow another country to do this on their behalf?
I know what happened with Eurofighters and Saudi Arabia and BAE, but not the SAAB fighters.
