thousands of years of cypriot heritage?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

So you are not a Greek Patriot, tell me, you did not vote YES to Anan Plan did you?

Look D-A (short for your nick), all I did above was to offer you some friendly and free advice so that your views (whatever they are) can at least be considered by other members in the forum. So far I am afraid that this does not seem to be the case with you and your posts. Whether you choose to take it or not, this is 100% up to you.

My vote/ views regarding the UN plan and the referendum are irrelevant to all the above, but I have no problem discussing the issue with you under another thread, once of course you start demonstrating the ability to discuss.

O.

I am sorry. I am a patriotic Greek who is fighting for restablishment of the Byzantine State. Could you imagine if we did it?

Of course we can! We are all delusional sorry little men who live in a dream!

I don't know what you gotta do, man. I really don't. Maybe you should turn to Alexandros Lordos, he'll probably know what to say.

What amazes me the most about you, however, is how you don't seem to care (or realize?) that NO ONE takes you seriously... Are you 12? What exactly is the matter with you?

Do you even realize the harm you're causing to this forum (and I wish it only affects the forum)? You get people wound up, you get otherwise nice people to lose their temper and start saying things they don't mean, and, what's more, most of these people you're not worthy of, in terms of knowledge, open-mindedness and outlook.

How about how many of you there are out there? Do you even realize that? Really, how many Greeks do you think are insane enough to believe in (and much less, fight for) this Byzantine Empire stuff? 10? 20? If you weren't hiding behind your keyboard, you'd probably be one of those ridiculous personas that come and go on TV, just wasting their 15 minutes by making fools out of themselves and getting their audience to laugh as hard as hell. You'd probably be something like Outopos in Cyprus.

Whoever taught you how to use the internet should be shot. You have nothing to give anyone. I don't either, but I know that and I stay quiet. You are an open wound in a dying body.

Look my friend, I know it must be tough living in Leeds but there is no need for that kind of language, you can praise your Anan plan all you wish, but as we saw with the referendum, MOST CYPRIOTS DONT AGREE WITH YOU. WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR EFFECTIVE 50-50 RULE. Are you not proud to be Greek?

It is good that you are proud of your Greek heritage, DA, but what does the way one voted on the referendum have to do with being proud to be Greek, and why must one "wear his pride on his sleeve"? Remember how the gods rewarded hubris.

Answer this, we have been on this island for 4 millenia, you, nearly 4 centuries, who has more right to call himself Cypriot do you think

id like to say that my father spoke perfect greek, so much so that gcs were shocked to learn he was tc. his father's turkish was the same level as mine, okish. My grandfather's mother's turkish was worse, she could understand most but speak very little. This line of my family came from a village where greek had always been the first language. It is said that these people converted during the Ottoman times.

how far back does their cypriot heritage go, does it make them anymore cypriot?

I thought about that many times gabaston and i think its just stupid thinking if you are a real Cypriot just because ur ancestors came back later than the GCs.However Piratis i dont think that being a GC makes u any more Cypriot either.I mean come on guys we are talking about 2-3000 years here.Anything could have happened through our geneological tree from that time to present. You cannot know for sure that u are coming directly from the ancient greeks that came to Cyprus. One of your ancestors might as well have married with some other ethnicity of all those conquerors that came to Cyprus.
Either way personally i take someone to be the ethnicity of the place he lives as long as his roots there stretch back up to 5 generations.
