Stop wasting your time - islam is for loosers.

Come on, Mr Ed, can you not understand that some people wish to adopt a different Faith to yours? I find it surprising that so many intelligent people on this Forum cannot accept that, for their own good and valid reasons, many people have a Faith - or a different Faith to them.

Nobody minds anybody having a different faith or belief...

We just don't like being lectured about it and told what we can or cannot eat because of their beliefs...

Go and join a muslim forum if you want to swap 'pigs are bad' videos...

You are correct Lana , all are entitled to believe in whatever fairy tales they want to. Some years back I saw the light and converted to the worlds greatest , real great , religion, the OLYMPIANS. 24 of them , each sharing a multitude of tasks and each having one exclusive territory. None interfere with ones eating habits and none challenge natures forces .
You will of course have notice that as mark of respect the entire world joins in the four yearly games in honour of the true Gods and Goddesses , some quite sexy too !!

Leviticus 11

“These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat. 10But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is detestable to you. 11You shall regard them as detestable; you shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses. 12Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is detestable to you."

As this seems to include:
Lobsters, Crabs, Oysters, Mussels, Prawns, Squid, Octopus, etc. etc., I think I'll give Leviticus a wide berth.

My broad view of organised religion is:
Avoid anyone who wears a funny hat and/or tries to tell you what to eat.

putting aside the religious aspect i noted on a recent video about Greek food (filmed in greece) that at the end of lent lamb was the meat on the spits, not pork.
Also our Cypriot dietician doesnt consider pork to be healthy food - she is not a vegan, but her system works and she has a successful business.
Also another factor is that commercially farmed pigs are pumped full of all sorts of chemical rubbish to induce growth etc.. not natural and not healthy.

Ever been to India? if you saw what the pigs there ate you would never eat pork again.

I suspect that all commercially farmed animals are 'pumped full of all sorts of chemical rubbish'...

We have a free-range pig farm up here in TRNC, owned and run by a TC. I think he feeds them swill and doubt they get much "chemical rubbish" down them.
Result - Beautiful, fat, juicy, tasty pork - just like it used to be in the UK before the EU spoilt it. We pay a bit more than you do in RoC (6.50E/kilo) but it tastes loads better.

As to what the pigs in India eat, have you seen the amount of fish that gather round a sewer outfall? :D

I see a lack of consistency in all this.

Whereas you see "consistency" among so-called Christians? :?

What is it with so many people and as soon as they hear the word “Islam” they start posting the dumbest things I’ve ever heard?

I have not said that all Christians are consistent. The fact remains that I know of Christians who seek to better follow the doctrine.
Do not kill, steal, do not want to sleep with other women, respect father and mother and so on.
All those beautiful words that if you think about it are shared by other religions.

What makes you think that I belong to that category of people who are terrorized by Islam?? I wrote only what I see now in my country.
I lived some years in Arab countries (Oman and UAE) and I always respected their ideas, their traditions and their prohibitions.
Nobody forced me to do so.
I am a person very respectful of my neighbor.
Especially if my neighbor has a world view different from mine.
Certainly do not agree completely certain "tradition" but I always try to put myself in the shoes of the person next to me.
Then if we start talking about religious extremism, I say that the world is full of crazy people. Whether Christian or Muslim or Jewish, or all those who believe that people living in straight lines as the borders of their countries. I refer to the Middle East, including Cyprus.
I have many Muslim friends with whom I established a relationship of mutual respect.
Want to know a nice reply when I asked one of them <what is the real reason why you can not eat pork?>
<Because I can not eat my brother >
We started laughing and then we opened another beer pretty cool.
So please live peacefully and if you think me an idiot you are free to do so.
