I say , what a load of pork scratchings !!

I reckon he wanted to keep the bacon to himself....

One thing that I cant fathom out is how people , some quite intelligent too , find a bacon sandwich offensive !! A couple of years back I was waiting for my turn to be served at a canteen in Mayday Hospital , South London. In frond of me a lady Doctor , stethoscope round her neck , fluent English with not a trace of foreign accent when she begun remonstrating with the young female server who seemed totaly lost , that Ham sandwiches were placed next to the Cheese and tomato . She was forceful demanding to know why on earth ham sandwiches were placed on a tray next to the Cheese ones !!I couldn't help by joining in and saying .

Perhaps she was Jewish, where 'meat and milk' should never be placed near each other (like many Jewish traditions based on the basis of hygenen, existing in a hot country). Many jewish families will have two sets of saucepans and plates, so the two never meat. In less orthadox families, this is only done at pesach (easter).

I think Judaism is the most fascinating of Religions; I remember attending an Orthadox Service; All the ladies sat upstairs in a balcony running the length of the Synagogue; married ladies have to wear hats, single ladies must not (or was it the other way round?).

Downstairs the Service went on for hours, all in Hebrew of course. Because everyone had forgotten the Hebrew they learned, at the age of 14 for their Bah Mitzvas, NO-ONE other than the Rabbi and Kanta (Singer) had a clue what was going on. So everyone talked about business and who was doing what to who, until every 10 minutes, the Rabbi demanded silence, only for the conversations to start again!

ladies were not, of course, allowed to participate in the Service.

Yialoser, you said earlier that the Old Testament was not part of Christianity - did you not pay attention in Sunday School?
