From the UK, but I lived in Turkey for a long time. My Greek is extremely weak, actually, as YFred will testify.

From what I have seen of your posts you are balanced which is refreshing on this board, pointing out when either GCs or TCs are being dickheads, sometimes I feel that a balanced impartial observer would help with negotiations as both parties have valid grievances and positions, but nationalism and a sense of perhaps misguided loyality get in the way of recognising this too often, and therefore we are stuck with the situation we have been for 40 years.

Thanks. I hope to remain in Cyprus for the rest of my life so I want to see a just and lasting solution, otherwise the Sword of Damocles will remain hanging over the island. I do not think that the extremist positions on either side help much.

I see. So all this "lambron na se gapsi, vromo shillo" kind of stuff is not insulting? Damn. I can see I have a long way to go before I ever understand the Cyprus vernacular. I think I will take your advice and have a nap today!
