3,000 TCs on the side of Trabzonspor!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Yiannis » Tue Jul 26, 2005 11:32 pm

any news on crowds behaviour?

Fortunately no tensions at all between the 2 teams suporters.

I personally got touched when a famous song dedicated to the return of Famagusta was sang by the fans of Anorthosis.
May Anorthosis return to her home town as soon as possible.

Just 3 things:
a)The Tcs (about 2000) were not every entousiastic. They were sitting all 90 minutes of the game. At the end of the game they all stood up and started applauding Anorthosis.
There were no mainland Turkish Fans.
b)The TCs were holding some Turkish flags
c)The GCs flooded the place with Greek Flags

Thank you Gabaston for your congrats but unlike my wife I am not a fun of Anorthosis.I just admire thembecause they are a superb team. Most refugee teams dont even managed to survive. This one not only survived but it ranks top every year.
The Famagustians are special people re. No wonder they were doing so well prior to 74. Thats why I chose a wife from there too.

Congrats to the Cypriot team. I'm pretty surprised, I have to admit.

Does Anorthosis have its own Stadium? The team is from Varosi isn't it?

I read that there is only a single stadium in Cyprus thjat meets UEFA standards in Lefkosia.

Anorthosis's temporary (hopefully) home is in Larnaka and her stadium is Antonis Papadopoullos.

Yeap only GSP qualifies for European cup games just because of the capacity. GSP its the only stadium in Cyprus with over 20,000 people capacity. However there are plans for a new stadium being built for Omonoia so hopefully that will be the 2nd Stadium with European standards.

Congrads to the G.C team (sorry too lazy to look up its spelling :P ). I bet they could get the champions leage cup with such ambition. I also bet the T.Cs were holding Turkish flags reluctantly  Anyways, if this team has guts, let them play with Galatasaray! :D

Towards the end of the match a section of Anorthosis supporters started chanting "Cyprus is Greek". The Turkish Cypriots responded by chanting "Omonoia, Omonoia"!

Omonoia is the top leftist team in Cyprus and it has many TC friends and admirers. Its name means "unity".
