3,000 TCs on the side of Trabzonspor!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I dont know how valid it is but according to a GC website some TCs from Famagusta will be joining the GC fans of Anorthosis.

Judging from what the fans shout to each other when GC teams or Greek teams play between them, I doubt they can find anything worst to say to the Turkish team and to the TC/Turkish fans.

So those 3,000 TCs that will come to watch the game should not worry. They will just experience the "fun" of a game like all others played in Cyprus. Actually with all that police probably it will not be worst than an AEL - APOEL game.

To an outsider all these may seem that we are politicising football. However, did you know that here in Cyprus we are also quite good at footbalising politics?

Whatever it is, this football match should not be considered extraordinary when compared to other matches played by different clubs of different countries. What makes this match important is because it is the first time that a Turkish team is playing with a Greek Cypriot team. All of the tensions etc should be considered normal imo. Yet, the police should be careful in preventing any physical if not verbal clashes between the fans. Do you guys have an idea about the number of Turkish fans coming from Turkey to S. Cyprus via Larnaca airport?

Denktas strongly criticizes Greek Cypriot administration
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign Minister Serdar Denktas strongly criticized the Greek administration's decision to not allow the Turkish football team "Trabzonspor" to enter the Greek Cypriot side of the island for the UEFA Champions League qualifying round first-leg match via the TYRNC, saying that they were discriminating against Turks by imposing such a stance."Trabzonspor could not go to Greek Cypriot side for UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg match via TRNC," said Denktas.

"This is the recent and clearest example of embargoes imposed on Turkish Cypriots,'' added the Turkish Cypriot foreign minister.

Denktas then suggested that the best answer that could be given by the Greek Cypriots over this matter would be to allow the team to return to Turkey via the TRNC.

''The Greek Cypriot administration, which has turned this match that can be a confidence-building opportunity between the two peoples, responded negatively to the desire of many TRNC citizens to watch this match,'' said Denktas.

Denktas added, ''this incident has once more indicated that Greek Cypriot side has not stopped using every opportunity as an embargo on Turkish Cypriots. This stance of the Greek Cypriot administration is not helping a solution.''

Trabzonspor will play UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg match with the Greek Cypriot Anorthosis Famagusta soccer team on Tuesday (July 26th).

It's amazing how some people can manage to make themselves look so ridicoulous.

Garbitsch, there are no fans coming from Tr like there are no Gc fans going to Tr for the next game.
There were no Tr tourist agents to take the responsibility and organise the trip. On the other hand I've heard that the flight ticket from Trabzon to L/ca is very expensive.
UEFA considers the game as a high risk game(if I'm correct on that phrase) therefore no fans will travel from one country to the other and I think that was a suggestion of Anorthosis as well.
