Photography?

Postby T_C » Mon Apr 12, 2010 2:08 pm

OK so I'm finally getting accustomed to my new camera. :D

I haven't taken it out much because the pictures I was taking were abysmal to begin with, but since I've bothered to do some research and learn the tricks/settings of my camera I'm getting a lot better.

Are there any other amateur photographers out there?

Also is there any chance of me finding cheaper lenses in Cyprus? I can use old Minolta lenses on my camera...but even they can be so expensive here in the UK....a decent old lens starts at around £200...a new one is £400+!! :bawling:

I must be fully equipped for my next visit to Cyprus... 8)

ebay...?

I think you'll find lenses are more expensive here - unless you can find somebody desperate for cash....

I've checked ebay and they were slightly cheaper, but I was hoping for a proper bargain ...

I generally don't buy anything off ebay that I may have to send back. It's such a hassle!

Sony A350.

It's a great camera, but the Sony lens I got with it doesn't do the sensor justice AT ALL...kind of wish I'd bought the body only and waited to buy my own lenses...

I got the original Alpha...

I managed to get a couple of Minolta flash guns on ebay really cheap... but I haven't seen any lenses at reasonable prices... I wanted a fish-eye for a while....

Coool!! :)

I want a fish-eye lens as well. They're just way too expensive though...the lenses cost more than the bloody cameras! :?

I saw a £5k lens on Sonys webstore yesterday...ouch...but they are worth it in terms of picture quality. It makes a HUGE difference from what I've seen on the net.

I also really want to try HDR photography. The sunrises, sunsets, churches, mosques, villages and landscapes in Cyprus would make such good scenes using HDR.
