winter weather

Postby migmogs » Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:38 am

hi

hello

I am new to here

we are looking to winter for 6 months on Cyprus near to Paphos if possible.......or is another area in Cyprus warmer for the winter months?....from end of Oct to end of April.....for reasons of ill health

my questions are:

how warm/cold is the weather in the winter months?

and how wet are these months?

would you advise only to book an accomodation with heating of some format installed?

cheers in advance

hi

thanks for your reply

we are from the uk

are any parts of cyprus warmer or drier than others?

or are all parts virtually the same weather wise

my other half has seriously damaged his lungs at work.....hence why we are looking for 6 months of warmer than uk weather for the winter months

cheers

This should give you some idea.

There are very mild winters in most of Cyprus apart from the high land in the Troodos mountains, where it snows in the winter.

OK we ve been here for 2 weeks

Its warmer but still very very cold at night, you must have good heating wherever you are going to live

We are in Paphos and again today it is cold

thanks for answering

the weather charts are showing paphos to be sunny with cloud at the moment

20 - 26 dgress over the next week or so

interesting to read that you are feeling so cold

are you feeling cold at night times because the house is cold?

we are aware that houses in the med are built with long hot summers in mind

cheers for the post

The funny thing is that after you have lived here for a while what by UK standards would be quite mild weather feels cold.

tim

when you say mild

does that mean no frosts etc etc?

as it is the cold frosty weaher that hurts my other halfs lungs further

and where on the island would you suggest for a drier, milder climate?

cheers

There is no sun today and hasn t been aby for the past 3 days

We ve had rain on and off for the past 3 days as well and a mini tornado yesterday in the harbour

Today the UK is warmer than here lol much to my disgust !!!

Yes the houses are built to keep the heat out during the hot months so that doesnt help trying to keep the heat in during the winter months

I lived in Spin for 10 years and it was the same there

But when the sun shines hey ho its fab !!!!
