Its warmer but still very very cold at night, you must have good heating wherever you are going to live

We are in Paphos and again today it is cold

The funny thing is that after you have lived here for a while what by UK standards would be quite mild weather feels cold.

tim

when you say mild

does that mean no frosts etc etc?

as it is the cold frosty weaher that hurts my other halfs lungs further

and where on the island would you suggest for a drier, milder climate?

cheers

Cyprus is the best place for you within the European Union, I would say, as long as you avoid the mountains. The current property crisis in Cyprus, and particularly Paphos, should make it possible to find bargains in the housing market, but beware of the title deeds problem.

We ve had rain on and off for the past 3 days as well and a mini tornado yesterday in the harbour

Today the UK is warmer than here lol much to my disgust !!!

Yes the houses are built to keep the heat out during the hot months so that doesnt help trying to keep the heat in during the winter months

I lived in Spin for 10 years and it was the same there

But when the sun shines hey ho its fab !!!!

hi pepps

you sound fed up

yes we did have great weather yesterday here in the uk

hot enough for a Barbie....I know don't collapse or hold your breath...today it is much cooler......back to normality then

Did you live in spain?

and if so was it warmer?

cheers for your responces

Sorry I am a bit lol

Yes we lived in Spain for 10 years and the weather was about the same

I think Cyprus is much better we just have the same frustrations trying to set up home here

Spain changed dramatically over the past couple fo years, crime etc etc

I find Cyprus a little more expensive than Spain but it is lovely here and I would recommend Cyprus over Spain any day

hi wingnut

cheers for that

the picture I am building up is one of cold and rain

of course that is not what we are looking for :D

seriously what kind of winter weather can we expect?

more sunny days than rainy days?

or grey skies and wrap up warm in woolies for the duration?

cheers in advance

Cyprus has 300 days when the sun shines every year! So 65/66 days don't and they are not normally sequential (that means one after the other).

Is that enough information?

The winters in Cyprus are far, far milder than in the UK.

dont worry about the cold. you will be a bit chilly at night sometimes during the winter months (dec, jan, feb and maybe march) but wrap up and use a heater and you will be fine. the days during the winter are usually sunny and warm. even the rainy days are mild and unless the winds are blowing from the north then the breeze won't be too fresh either. i dont much wear jumpers during the winter, just t-shirts and i keep a sweater in the car for when the sun goes down. its more than enough for me.

you can't compare the bitter UK winter weather with that of cyprus, there is just no comparison. of course you get the usual whingers who cry how cold their little concrete box can get, but you can insulate that bad boy and get some decent windows and never need to use a heater more than a handful of times a year.
