We would continue to live together and in peace with the TC minority as we did during the 80 years of British rule. But now instead of being British subjects we would all become equal Greek citizens. We had nothing against the TC minority, just like we had nothing against any of the other minorities in Cyprus. Our struggle was against the Colonialists and not against the TCs. The conflict with the TCs started only when the TCs attacked us, burning the homes and shops of innocent people and massacring others. And as I showed in my previous post this was done after instructions from Turkey, promising to the TC minority gains on our expense if they helped them to defeat our revolution.

When a majority of the GCs can say, without any qualification, that ENOSIS with Greece dream was wrong and the cause of all our troubles,we will have some hope of a solution

The above quote is a good example of the trap that the Turks want us to fall in.

They are the ones who have most of the responsibility of what happened to Cyprus since they are the ones who initiated all wars and conflicts against us, starting from 1571 and continuing to 1958 and 1974 in their attempt to enslave and control our island.

We did take part in those wars and conflicts they started against us and they did suffer and had casualties as well, but putting most of the blame on us is like blaming the allies for WWII because the Germans and the Japanese had casualties and suffered during the wars they started.

Our cause for union with the rest of Greece was 100% legitimate. The UN resolution 1541 defines "free association with an independent State, integration into an independent State, or independence as the three legitimate options of full self-government."
http://www.un.org/Depts/dpi/decolonizat ... ration.htm

Who was wrong was not the Cypriot people for asking for their legitimate rights, but the Turks and the British who refused those rights to us because they wanted to maintain troops and control over our island.

Now Bir wants us to take all the responsibility for everything. And maybe some Cypriots are enticed by his proposal. They might think "hey, lets just accept whatever the Turks say about the past, what we care about is the future, not the accuracy of what happened in history". But as I said this is a trap. Because once they convince us to accept their lies, the next thing we will hear from them will not be "OK, lets have a united Cyprus with no borders and no discriminations" but instead it will be "OK, now you accepted that you are the evil ones who caused everything, our demands to stay separate from you in our own Turkish state, with gains of land and power on your expense and with Turkish 'guarantees' should make perfect sense". Don't fall in their trap.

Maintaining the accuracy of historical events is critical for a weak side like ours fighting against a much more powerful invader. While we want to punish nobody for what happened in the past, we should not allow others to fake our history and use that as an excuse to justify yet more crimes against us.

You are not a very trusting guy,are you Piratis? For someone who wants the TCs to send Turkey packing and trust you again with their lives and property??? But we all know now...You are a fanatical Greek who still wants toa chieve Enosis, this time by reducing the TCs to a minority status and then demanding your right to self-determination... The TCs trusted you once in 1960,and you started planning your treacherous act of achieving Enosis underhandedly before the ink was dry...You accept that it was Enosis which cause all the trouble in our recent history, repent and ask for forgiveness for turning Cyprus to Hell for hundreds of thousands of Cypriots (GCs included),and we will see if you are sincere this time...Those who cannot trust cannot be trusted...

I didn't ask you to trust me. I demand to respect my rights, and as long as you don't there will be war.

TCs are a minority, and any powers and privileges that they receive which are over and above what other minorities receive (e.g. the Greeks in Turkey) are ill received gains which they get on our expense by collaborating with foreign Imperialists.

What I want is not enosis. What I want is the Cypriot people to be free to democratically choose the destiny of their own island. It is this right which has been denied to us for centuries by foreign oppressors. The Cypriot people have the right, if they want, to unite their own island with Greece, EU or whomever else they choose, and neither Turkey nor a small Turkish minority in Cyprus by itself has the right to overwrite what the Cypriot people democratically choose.

Yep,the same fanatical, uncompromising Greek mentality which cost Cyprus dearly in the past...You wanted ENOSIS with Greece since 1821,you wanted it in the 50s,you wanted in in the 60s,you wanted it in the 70s ,and you still want it,Piratis...

In your list you can also add that we didn't want the Turks invading, occupying and oppressing our island.

So what gives you the right to come to our island and impose your will on us? Why can't you show some respect to what the Cypriot people want?

Have a look at this picture,Piratis...You probably remember it...It is me,sitting on the ruins of my birth house...This is what I found returning from exile after 40 years...This is your handy work...The work of bloody minded, ENOSIS-dreaming, Greek extremists...Tell me,where are my gains on your loss???? The TCs will never believe anything you say till you accept the disasterous results of your ENOSIS dream...So think again...There might still be some time to reconsider your stand on this...

That is the result of the war you started against us in 1958 when you collaborated with foreign Imperialists in order to deny the freedom to our island.

You think that you can start a war against us and that we will surrender and let you have gains on our expense? When you start a war against us the war will go on until we win it. We never surrender. We have seen many foreign invaders come and go.

There is no hope for you,Piratis...I will ask you again...I have lost my ancestral village and lots of property, and had to leave my country...Where are my gains against your loss??? What have you lost personally,Piratis ??Tell me...One thing your thick fanatical Greek head doesnt seem to grasp is this: Cyprus is my home and the home of hundreds of thousands of TCs...We are no foreign invaders, and we are not going anywhere...Insist on your hate and bitterness-filled ambitions, and you will lose more than I ever did...I am not wishing that on you,by the way, just warning you...

Can you show me where have you being accused of being a thief at the time you supported justice and the right of all Cypriot people to live free without any racist discriminations in their our homeland?

If there were people who accused you of being traitor and other things, those were people like VP and Zan, the kind of people that you today support, not the GCs.

Today you support the stealing of our lands, human rights violations and racist discriminations against us, segregation ... this makes you something much worst than a thief.

Don't mean to burst your Hellenic-hating bubble but we had a large oven structure made of similar stone and earth like the one in the photo and despite a modicum of maintenance over the last few decades, it now looks virtually the same.

Bir, wasn't partition the demand of YOUR community?

How can you blame me for you losing your home in the Paphos district when it was the demand and struggle of your own community to partition Cyprus and ethnically cleanse Cypriots so all TCs will be in the north and all GCs in the south??? And today we support your right to go back to your own village and in the same way for the GCs to go back to their own. But you continue to insist on partition and segregation with a Turkish north and a Greek south!

Stop trying to blame us for seeking the freedom of Cyprus and our legitimate rights which would violate none of your human rights. Even if Cyprus was united with Greece you would continue living in your village in peace just like you did during British rule. We didn't turn against you, just like we didn't turn against any other Cypriot minority. We simply demanded our legitimate rights and fought against the Colonialists, not you.

It is your community who wanted partition and ethnic cleansing, it is you who turned against us and attack us, so stop blaming us for the results of your own aims.

Sorry Bir, but hubby and I adore restoring ruins and have a fair idea of what wear and tear and neglect can do. I can assure you just 15 years neglect in this climate (or even in less harsh France) of those old structures will leave nothing but a pile of rubble! I don't know if there was any assistance towards this distraction, but if you neglected it for so long, I am afraid there's nothing much else you could expect. Besides, the Polis area suffered quite badly in the last earthquake and my aunt's house, which was old, crumbled quite dramatically.

No fool as I just copied and pasted it from youtube. :D

Here's something random I copied and pasted...:D

Y?
I once knew this guy,
Let's call him "Y".
This guy was so dumb
He wore a tin foil vest
He'd spend his dull days
Getting dressed and undressed
Good Christ he was stupid,
This guy I'm calling "Y".

You could approach him in public
With a test tube of piss
And if you said to him:
"Here, drink some of this."
He invariably would
And then with your fist
You could punch out his teeth
And he'd thank you for this!

He was just that stupid
He was just that thick
If you fed him raw bacon
He wouldn't call you a "dick",
He'd say "My, that's nice!"
And then enjoy being sick!
All joking aside –
He was painfully thick.

The last time I saw him
He was laid flat on the ground
He'd heard if you stay there
Not making a sound
You'd hear the earth's heart
Beating deep underground
And when you heard this
You'd finally be unbound
And you could fly in the air
A feat the would astound
The dazzled onlookers
Who'd come from miles around

When I left him
He'd been there for twelve hours.
A dog had used him as a toilet,
And there was a muddy footprint on his chest.

Like I say – he really wasn't too bright
This guy I'm calling "Y".
