I was just concerned about the number of (seriously) abandoned pets which money-strapped Brits seem to have left littering the island ...

For example:

British pets abandoned on Cyprus find new life in Germany

Stray pets on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, abandoned by hard-hearted ex-pat British victims of the credit crunch, are finding new homes with animal lovers in Germany.

amazing isnt it how brits get targeted by narrow minded divs like you, I take it you couldnt find your nationalities wrong doings towards animals, here you are I did for you....

Every nationality has a spitful streak including brits but you shouldnt rule your own out its damn right narrow minded and obvious

Down here in far away Pissouri there is a huge problem of dogs abandoned by Cypriots....I'm not saying that no expat has ever abandoned one or been cruel to animals but it is rare compared to the local problem.I've rescued and re-homed fifteen myself and many in the village have done much more than me...
Each year the hunting season brings hundreds of abandoned animals that aren't up to scratch - the motorway between here and Limassol is strewn with the mangled carcasses of dogs that have either wandered onto it or just been left by the side of it...We had a box full of puppies left outside our door - starving and dehydrated we couldn't save them all...The local rescue centres are full of abandoned dogs...
Still, must be a local thing...

There have been a number of articles recently suggesting this is a growing problem with money-strapped Brits, lacking rabies-vaccinations for their pets, inevitably leaving in a hurry and therefore abandoning their pets.

My point was that if these people of Bubbles' are Cypriots, they probably haven't left the island and as she has now said, it sounds like they have come back and picked up the puppy.

Where did I say that they had left the island or indeed are Cypriot? :? You are changing your story to suit your mood madam.

I am still no further forward to learning just what has happened to the puppy - but I will mark my words.

Yeh really helpful that, starve it, abandon it, leave a puppy to fend for itself, if Bubbles and neighbours had,nt come to its rescue would it have survived?
Shows what you know IF you think that them coming back is good news for the puppy.
I,ve seen three dead dogs on the motorway this week, whoever does this to an animal has a REAL problem, and the fact that its not addressed is shameful.

They were only gone for a day ...
Bubbles just assumed because they are Cypriots that they had abandoned it
.

Again - show me where I assumed they were Cypriots (I know the exact nationalities and I chose not to divulge this as I regard it as irrelevant. I only truthfully posted that neither are Brits as it was YOU who had assumed that they were! )

Since when does time become a factor in all of this? the fact that the puppy was abandoned is the real issue - a fact that you have chosen to ignore!

Really O, if you have nothing constructive to give to this thread - PLEASE LEAVE!

oh its alright to leave it now.
now you know they were not English who left the puppy.
you are unreal, shame on you stupid woman

Leaving it for a day because they had gone to find new accommodation is a little different to flying off 2,000 miles never to return!
Talking about "never to return" ... what went wrong with you?

Actually, it now transpires that the puppy had been left since Wednesday night/Thursday morning - but again I stress the time issue is NOT THE FACTOR - ABANDONMENT IS!

Finally!

I discovered via another neighbour that the owner of the puppy did in fact return and take him/her away. A good or bad thing - I am not sure.

I just hope that he/she is now happy and being well cared for.

(I nearly brought home another stray cat today - a gorgeous friendly ginger cat in need of food and love. Alas, if I bring any more strays into the family home our oldest cat takes mega umbrage! No win situation! :( )
