Here come the bullies again... The TCS want another war. They "won" the 1974 war but ended up with the short end of the stick, living in no mans land, waiting for handouts from mother Turkey so they can put food on the table. Not able to provide a decent living for their families, education for their kids and non recognition from the civilized world...

Do you consider that "winning"? I think you just dug a deeper hole for yourselves. Refusing to submit to a unified RoC, the hole will get deeper and deeper... You may start another war but this time help in on the way for RoC from a worldwide coalition which would wipe out Turkey it self.

Your best choice is to work things out the civilized way and get with the program. War is not the solution, you'll loose big time, sit on the table to get this solution done, once & for all.

These scare tactics don't work no more, start behaving like Cypriots, not Turks (if you know the difference).

Ny name is not Sotos or Piratis. As far as Enosis is concerned, I stated many times, Enosis is a dead issue, a long time ago.

I think like a Cypriot and so do you. It's your fellow TCs that get excited and promote bullish behavior, not me or you. If all TCs had your attitude towards the Cyprob, the solution would be here already.

Do you hear this TCs? Follow Bir's lead, the only way out of this. You have nothing to loose except the "supervision" from mother Turkey, not really a big loss, if you are to become Europeans.

Long before you arrived on the scene I spend some years talking about the part the TCs played in our little tragedy,and tried to convince the TCs on this board that only a Unitary State solution based on democratic and human rights principles and one-vote-one-value system of politics would lead to a lasting and peaceful coexsistance in Cyprus...My efforts were sabotaged by those fanatical/extremist Greeks/GCs here who just kept distorting our recent history and attacking all things Turk and TC with vengence...Their refusal to accept the privital role Of ENOSIS,and the plight of the TCs between 1963-74,and their continuing accusations that the TCs are thieves who want to enjoy their gains on GC expense rubbed plenty of salt in my wounds...My family has lost all our properties in the South,and I have been living in exile for over 40 years...I have realised that people who refuse to see the facts and show little empathy or compassion for the TC predicament cannot be trusted not to try their ENOSIS ideal once again...I know that most GCs now accept that Enosis with Greece is an impossible dream,but they have replaced it with another (from what I deduct from the posts of the Extremists here)...The new dream is " To reduce the TCs into a political minority again,and dominate and rule them at will"...This is the new ENOSIS for the fanatical GCs...Once I realised the deep rooted hatred and bitterness against the TCs still burning in certain GC hearts,I could no longer try to convince my fellow TCs that they could trust their fellow GCs...The best I can hope for now is a BBF with polital equality with or without Turkey's guarantee...

My frustration is that the GC fanatics will not agree to such a solution,they would rather see the status quo continue,till "the balance of power changes" or "Turkey is dismantled" or"The EU puts enough pressure on Turkey to leave the TCs to their fate"...As none of this will ever happen,I can see the status quo continuing in the short term,replaced by Permanent Partition in the long term,leading to the Tiwanisation of the trnc eventually...That would mean total Turkification of the North,a fate the GCs say they do not want...I have tried and failed to convince the more fanantical GCs that they are really cutting off their nose to spite their face...Perhaps you will have better luck...

if turkification continues you will see a lot more tcs re-settling in the free areas accepting a unitary state and minority rights...

granted the north will be a second turkey with settlers continuously coming...erasing what is left of tc culture...

demands by talat that turkish nationals should have the same rights as greek nationals settling in cyprus is a non starer as the roc is in the eu and any eu member citizen is afforded the same rights...further more greeks do not want to settle in cyprus as industry for work is non existent...

but the insistance of turkey in allowed to re-settle any turkish citizen would have dramatic consequenses on cyprus...

so you see it cuts both ways...

as i said before the future of tcs and gcs rests on both communities working on solution together favouring what is the best for both communities either be a unitary state or a true federation, similar to what we have in OZ...insisting on bi-zone crap is nothing more than apatheid...political equality should not mean segregation, something the tcs insist on...

It is my opinion that is based on my intimate knowledge of T/Cs here in the UK and some in Cyprus too , that the extremists on both sides are despised and held responsible for all of our problems. Never lose faith in the goodness and fairness of the majority of both G/Cs and T/Cs who want nothing more than to be able to live on the island as free people , without the fear of conflict and with their democratic rights protected by the law and overseen by the ECs .
No one can blanket the entire population of Cyprus as fanatics wanting either ENOSIS or TAKSIM
The vast majority want nothing of the sort.The T/Cs are NOT happy with the influx of settlers or indeed the presence of the Turkish army and the G/Cs are not happy either with so called Greeks who in large numbers took over certain parts of Paphos altering the peaceful culture that once existed.
We must not lose touch with realities in that we are an independent nation part of it under the occupation of a foreign country , for this occupation to end a solution must be found based on justice and fairness for all Cypriots. The past has gone , whats done is done lets not repeat the dreadful mistakes we then made.

I know TC families who have a lot of sympathy with the Turkish settlers who have been there for so many years they have grandchildren there now. And I know a few who are very happy to have the Turkish army presence there too.

Can't give any opinion about how GCs in Pafos feel about 'Greeks' taking over there - I don't know any GCs in Pafos - most of Pafos seems to be inhabited by Brits!
