OH I FORGOT, Brother is TC and Erolz would never pull up any TC on what they write lol.

Grow up sourcey, this forum is moderated by svetlana and myself only and we are not so strict here if you go off topic and none of the moderators are biased that they would treat a gc and tc differently hence you suggesting this is very childish.

oh come on...apart from yourself, most of the regualr TC who post in the 'Cyprus Problem' forum have, well lets say a bias, toward posts made by TC's.

[quote="Svetlana"]I think most Nations take extreme measures when they feel under threat - and innocents suffer. For example, there was massive internment of those of Chinese descent, in the US after Pearl Harbour.

Just for the record it was Japanese that were "rounded up" not the Chinese.

[quote="erolz"]I have to say this has shocked and disturbed me.

I have to agree with you erolz. What really bothered me was the fact that the dude was shot execution style. I was watching BBC America and a witness described the scene. A true shame.

On the flipside I have to consider the position of the police. What if the man had a bomb on him? When do you apply deadly force? It's a no win situation and we have to believe that law enforcement will make the right call. I must also point out that this is sad event is not the norm but the exception...Thank God!

I remember watching the news right after this event happened with my father. He said : "I am sure they shot just a poor guy going to work", he was right after all!

I guess one of the things about this tradgic event that disturbs me so much is the cheif of police rather than saying this was a tradgey and we will make every effort to ensure such events do not occur again, is actually saying its a tradgedy but we will continue with this policy and everyone should be prepared for more such tradgies in the future.

Erolz,
I feel your pain. However we must have faith in law enforcement to make the right call. These are difficult times and we must make difficult choices. I hope we make the right ones.

The question that remains unanswered is: Why did he run rather than submit?
