Larnaca internet

Postby mandareen » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:10 pm

Hi everyone,
On behalf of my parents who are in Larnaca I wanted to ask your advice on choosing internet.
My mum and dad have a lap top and would like to use the net but which broadband is the best? (when it comes to prices and speed).
They will mainly use the internet to chat on skype, other messengers, mail or general web browsing.
I've heard there is free wi-fi available on the peer but how to connect to that? (I'm not an IT genius so please be kind in the jargon  )
many thanks,
Gosia

Rather than signing up for a contract for internet they may wish to use free Wi-Fi. There are many places around (bars / cafes) that now offer this facility free.

Just get them to turn in their wireless part on the laptop. Usually the strongest signal they pick up will be the establishment they are in, then use the access code that will be displayed and hey ho they are on the internet and can enjoy a beer or coffee while they pick up their emails etc..

Cheers.

Out of the 4 major providers, CyTA would be last choice. Have Otenet at home and internet is excellent.

Have a friend who has Cablenet and she is loving it, extremely fast.

Would have to be either of those 2.
