I don't believe there would be an agreed Partition...Turkey and the TCs would not offer them enough to make an agreement possible...So it will be the status quo followed by annexation when the time is right.

..

The way things are going you maybe right, it would be better than becoming a minority in a GC state, id much rather have Turkey.

Obama told Turkey last year in the Turkish Parliament, so that there was no misunderstanding, that Cyprus needs to be UNIFIED. He did not even use the word, UNITED. When Obama said UNIFIED, that was a direct instructions to Turkey, that Turkey cannot take any part of Cyprus....end of story. If you want to be part of Turkey, you are gonna have to go over by ferry, fly or swim. Those will be your only choices other than stay in Cyprus and build a Democratic Free Cyprus for your children's future and let them grow to become Cypriots.

Even you cant be that stupid not to see that we will never unite and that as time passes opinions change Obama today god knows who next...like it or not, ignore it all you want and make your lame excuses but time will guarantee partition forver.

We cannot expect anything with the likes of Piratis,VP...I am finally convinced...But the thing is,they know exactly what they are doing...They will never see us as equal partners, and they know we will not accept anything else...So their whole aim now is to scream the loudest about how badly they have been done by,in order to achieve maximum benefits from the agreed Partition they are working for....As for recognition,I dont think that is possible...Realistically we can expect to be annexed by Turkey in the long run...I am looking at the bright side...We might be allowed 4 wives in times to come...The challenge now is to stay young enough to enjoy the fruits of such a possibility... :)

Yeah, sure, that's sweet coming from a good looking rich guy such as yourself, but what about the rest of us average looking guys and the poor.!

Looks and riches have nothing to do with it...It will be Allah's will to have and cherish and enjoy 4 women in His Islamic Paradise, and He will make sure in His wisdom that we all benefit from His generosity....

I am looking for a partner in my Islamic Conversion and Matchmaking Centre,Kikapu,to help with all the wise GC males who will line up to become Moslems and take advantage of Allah's generosity...What do you say????

So there was no "calamity" when Cyprus belonged to the Ottoman and British empires against the will of the Cypriot people, but the "calamity" was a result of the Cypriot people wanting to democratically decide the destiny of their own island? The lesson that Bir wants to tech us is that we should not seek our rights, that we should be the "good slaves" otherwise the Turks will punish us.

Bir, we will never lean that "lesson". We will never be your slaves. You are trying for centuries to enslave us and de-Hellenize our island, and you haven't learned yet that we will not surrender to any foreign invader?

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

Was there a "calamity" in 1821 Bir? Or you managed to oppress our revolution quickly back then?

The TCs are an ethnic minority, just like the Turks in Greece or Bulgaria, or even the Greeks in Turkey. This minority is being used as the pawn of UK and Turkey and as an excuse to deny to Cyprus its freedom so these two countries can continue to have troops and control over our island.

Bir as always tries to present the TCs as the "innocents" who now have to be rewarded on our expense. If TCs are innocent once, GCs are innocent twice. If TCs suffered once, GCs suffered twice. if TCs are innocent once, the Greeks of Asia Minor are innocent 10 times. If TCs suffered once, the Greeks of Asia Minor suffered 10 times. Put things into a perspective and stop the Turkish propaganda trying to excuse your unfair demands.

Time to bring out Deniz's grammaphone....But I have not saved it anywhere...Thank you once again Piratis, for reminding us why we are in the predicament we are in,and why we will never get out of it in one piece...Violins please...... :)

I will keep reminding it to you, because you keep forgetting that you are the ones who created the problem to begin with and who are responsible for maintaining this problem today as you insist in racist discriminations, segregation, human rights violations and refusing to the Cypriot people their right to democratically rule their own island.

Is the Turkish (or Greek) communities in Australia "equal partners"? Is the Turkish minority in Greece "equal partners"? Is the Greek minority in Turkey "equal partners"?

Of course not. They can be equal citizens as individuals but not "equal partners" as a community. Such thing would be undemocratic and would be based on the racist descrimination and forceful segregation of the citizens of this country. It would be a form of apartheid. So of course we will not accept such thing.

You imposed such racist discriminations on our expense during Ottoman rule but today at least 2/3rds of our island is free and we will fight until the whole of our island is liberated from the foreign invaders.

You can call it "trnc" you can call it "Mersin 10" you can call it whatever you want, but regardless of what you call the north part of our island, the fact remains that it is our and you are only illegally occupying it. We've seen many foreign invaders before and we know that your occupation of our island is only temporary.

How can respecting what the vast majority of Cypriots want be "treachery"?

Your efforts to de-Hellenize our island failed and the Cypriot people in their vast majority wanted their island to be part of the Greek Republic along with the other 200 or so inhabited and another 6000 uninhabited Greek islands. How is having a united Greek Republic that encompasses all Greek population be "treachery"?

Treachery is what you did (if we consider you as Cypriots) since you collaborated with foreign Imperialists with the aim to deny to the Cypriot people their self-determination and the right to choose the way that our own island would be decolonized.
