Not immediately. But if there is an arms embargo, then over time most TAF aircraft will be grounded because they would just run out of spares.

The same thing happened to Iran with their F-14s.

forget the embargoes mate...all us made armaments these days are switchable from the US...you think the us will fight against their own weapons?...no way jose...

That's where GPS and Selective Availability come in.

Basically. all their weapons will be inaccurate, whereas US weapons will be pin point. They would also JAM all missile and radar systems as they would know exactly what all the frequencies are!

Turkey won't have the full capabilities of their US made weapons!

America is waking up to the fact that Iran represents the greatest threat in the Middle East, rather than the two neighbouring countries that they have smashed to smithereens. Under these circumstances, they need Turkey as an ally. I suspect that the appearance of articles like the one quoted at the beginning of this thread is a harbinger of a change in American policy towards Turkey.

us policy overides all frienships...this has been proven time and time again...it happened with the british, one of their staunchest allies...turkey doesn't even rate in this type of friendship...

I agree with you. If Fethullah Gülen gets expelled from the USA, that will speak volumes.

The tide is turning Tim.

And if I'm not mistaken, I did say to you that the US would not be too happy with Turkey's Islamification. Whilst it has some control over Turkey, it may turn a blind eye, but if the US loses its control, then who knows what might happen.

One thing is for sure, I don't think the US will be too scared of Turkey. We are talking about a country that faced the mighty USSR during bthe Cold War. Turkey is nothing but a mere dirty pimple on the former USSR's arse!
