It seems that the noose is tightening.

Not sure why you go out of your way to highlight the adventures of ONE individual among hundreds from around the world, that are attempting to recruit… :?

Shouldn’t you be concentrating more on worthwhile news such as…

1. Turkey refusing to allow strikes from her soil/air.
2. The US hell bent on getting air superiority over Syria but doesn’t seem to care as much about Iraq.

Etc, etc…

The significance of this event is that, given the abundance of evidence that Islamic State has until now been able to operate unhindered in Turkey, and indeed that the current Islamic regime in Turkey appears to tacitly support IS, this shows that pressure is now being effectively brought to bear on Turkey to take action against IS (which proves Foti Benlisoy right in one of the comments he made in the article of his I posted above). The reason this guy felt so comfortable about traveling to Istanbul was that he was sure he would be safe in Turkey - indeed, he has probably traveled to and fro from Turkey many times in the course of his recruitment activities. So, this suggests the tide is turning in a significant way.

Australian F-18F Hornets will be deployed for Air Strikes in Syria as well, and they don't need Turkey when they got the support of Cyprus and can operate from Akrotiri or the Emirates.

But it is good that Turkey has refused. It strengthens the Israeli and Greek argument that Turkey is not to be trusted and is a big backer of IS terrorism.

It's all falling into place, so it's time to say bye bye to ISIL.

Re: Air strikes on Syria: Not so easy. The Syrian government has said that they will treat these as unauthorised acts of aggression, and Russia is supporting them.

Re: Turkey: Also strengthens my long-time argument that there is no such thing as so-called moderate political Islam and the West has been nurturing a viper in its bosom for a long time by helping to bring these people to power.

Syria is talking tough.

However, the reality is that there has been no military action that has been authorized against Syria itself, or the Assad Regime.

Which means, the Assad Regime is being given a helping hand by the Coalition Intervention against Islamic State. But, if coalition aircraft are engaged by Assad's forces, and that includes the detection of any Radar Signature of any Surface to Air Missile Installation, then the coalition will in all likelihood destroy those installations as an act of self defence. This will be a grave error for Assad.

Assad is better off keeping a low profile and reap the benefits of the degradation of Islamic state's military capability and maybe go an a counter offensive against IS and destroy them. This is probably the game the coalition are playing. We shall see.

Regarding Turkey and Islam: I completely agree. No matter how we in the West like to dress things up as a feel good exercise, there is no such thing as Moderate Islam. Turkey has funded and built ISIL and its about time NATO and the US woke up to smell the coffee.

US Secretary of State, John Kerry, is visiting Ankara today. Now I wonder what that could be about.

I wonder if Russia will stand idly by while this is happening.

I think so!

I don't think they will get in the way at all. I think they also want ISIL destroyed but they won't voice it.

the yanks like cheap oli so they want the radical muslims destroyed. the ruskies are afraid of their federation being broken by their own radical muslims so they want it crushed. the old fool is clues so he wants them crushed because he thinks they all go round beheading people. the problem is you can kill people but you cannot kill ideas. for every one you kill 10 others will join. the best policy is withdraw your control from these lands and stop oppressing them. then they will leave you alone. but will you, like hell you will. you will continue to dip your sticky fingers in other peoples resources till they run out. then they will have peace and so will you. happy plundering you thieving bastards.
