Which the US is sponsoring little monkey!
No, they stopped last week. Now they are sponsoring Assad.
It's a core strategy of Assad that a much more repulsive and vulgar entity exists in Syria like Islamist State. He believes the US will be confronted with the dilemma of choosing IS or maintaining the status quo.
However, the problem being discussed right now, is the issue of being drawn into the Syrian Civil War. If the US attack IS in Syria, it could be drawn even deeper to fight the Assad Regime, but this will leave another power vacuum which could result in more extreme ideologues like IS.
Very complex problem.
What is a given is the fact that IS will be attacked by the US within Iraqi Borders. This will weaken IS in Syria as well but it will not defeat them. Other steps may include arming The Free Syrian Army. The Peshmerga are being assisted by the US and Iran.
Meanwhile, terrorist threat levels have risen to likely.
