Cyprus property market tarnished by London protest

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Isn't this the guy who was boasting he would screw Cyprus for Billions? And then, didn't he threaten to set his lawyers on us, here at CF, because we thought that sounded like extortion

And just for Greeko O: An article from NEOSKOMOS 'The Hellenic Perspective since 1957' lol! (so must be the gospel truth!) Written 9 months ago and the situation for both tourism and construction has worsened since.

Figures released last month indicate that Cyprus’ vital services sector is beginning to feel the effects of the global financial crisis, signalling fears for job security in the tourism and construction industries.

He never refused his money back, much more to it.

Kafenes much has been speculated in this case  even myself passed on heresay wrongly, one thing for sure it will get reported at least in the UK, but the case is high profile like it or not fair or not, tens of thousands here know everything about O'Dwyer and few have met him, equally many are awaiting the outcome. I,m not sure myself exactly what that will be, so not sure how so you know.

Three men have been charged in the assault case not one, very brave eh? three to one. Mind you one held so thats ok then...

Agree this thread is,nt about Deeds, we need a lot more pages for that

Milo, no one is condoning the assault. These charges will be dealt with in due course.

However, Conor's property claim against the developer is not entirely legitimate. The developer has offered to refund his money, and Connor should have accepted and walked away. Conor instead chose to embark on a campaign against all Cypriot Property Developers and Cyprus. Things just don't add up, and if you look deeper, you will also realise that Conor has not been completely honest. He is trying to swindle the Property Developer, and the Cypriot courts have seen through his antics and will deliver a verdict not entirely in his favour.

You are also overstating the effects of Conor's case. This case has been going on for a couple of years, and people are still buying property. I, only recently made a transaction of my own, and it was seamless. It is exactly what I expected and similar to other seamless transactions I had made in Australia.

Conor has been very fraudulent in his claims, and this will come out in the wash.

An 8.6 per cent decline in arrivals with a corresponding fall of 12.8 per cent in tourism revenues for the period from January to April 2009 includes a 10 per cent reduction in the number of British holiday-makers to the island, traditionally its largest overseas market.

God loves a tryer, lets wait and see when the outcome is officially announced. Things don,t always add up  Have you bought here? Great where? Do you have Deeds? My first buy here seemed seamless but ended up bad, we sold it quick though, did it all correctly this time and we, being in a minority, are fine. Wanted to buy another but got put off with the endless problems so instead invested back in the UK, which I must admit I did,nt want to :( But good markets at the minute to buy.

I bought in Tsadha! I bought a newly built home that was pre-owned by some Brits.

I went and inspected the home when in Cyprus, and had all contracts overseen by a reputable lawyer in Nicosia. I ensured that the property was released as security and that there were no caveats.

The Property Deed was released and then taken over by my own financial institution as security for a small mortgage I have on the property.

The title deeds situation is another matter which I don't doubt there is some very shubby bussiness going on. O'dwyer saw this as a great advantage to connect to his case so he could get a major public backup and sympathy but still not connected to his case.
