might be ok the ipad, it cold replace your laptop if you dont use the net for much, but definatly worth a try especially that it has a 10 hour battery life

I just found out it's going to be £499 in the UK!
For a 1GHz processor and a 16GB flash drive!?! Thats a rip off!!
Why would you buy an iPad when you can get a much much better laptop for the same price?!?

I have seen much speculation on the web as to prices in the UK, ranging from £499 -£699, depending on specification, but I suspect people are just translating US $ prices to £.
As far as I have seen, there is no confirmed prices yet; some suggest they will come in at less than a direct $ = £ conversion; a welcome change form Apple's usual policy.

Even if it was £399 it would still be over priced for what it is!
16GB?!?!? Thats disgusting!!!
It's not like it gives the user ANY advantage over using laptops (like the iPhone did with phones). It's basically a really expensive netbook with crappy specs...still no Flash player either....
They should have gone all out and made this into a proper laptop alternative with much better specs, DVD drive etc...as nothing more than a large iPod it's a step backwards for Apple...things are supposed to get smaller!!
